I think has only happened twice with me, apart from the few times the app/network was down. Once came back after turning off/on in settings, the other time pulled fuse.
That worked, thanks! I left it for about 10 minutes with the fuse out and it was back after I started next time.
Left house late this morning with Gom showing 148km, travelled 43 km and Gom now showing 119km. So you can gain a bit when the temp raises since your last trip. Temp was 12C in strong sunshine so almost no heater draw. Normally you notice when you loose kms, but it works both ways..
lol you don't use the heater ! π
I found out the answer to my question, remember I was wondering what happened the 6% or was it ? too lazy to go back if someone wants to do the honours lol anyway, found via EV notify that at 24% remaining displayed on the car translates to 30% actual just as I suspected. And anything beyond this is a mystery. So if it was 6% my calculations were spot on lol.
Would be nice to know the actual Kwh taken from the battery via the EV notify app like in Leafspy!
Haha, I did use the heater, but not as high as some would.. Was warm.. Couldn't believe how strong the sun was for end of December.
Proof, well sort of..π
lol yeah 17.5 Deg, proof the heater was idle π π 13.5 is good never saw this before then most of my commute is motorway and I rarely drive below 120 sometimes 130. But even on slower roads haven't managed below about 17 max.
Today driving home from Grangecastle gunned it 120 all the way once I hit the N7 got home 21.5 Kwh/100 Km which I thought was good with the heater actually on at 23 deg π
I would pass out at 23Cπ. If I am at 18.5 or so I am happy. Same every car I have had. Turned it down lower today, sun was strong. Today problem was Christmas Day floods, never seen so much water on low lying areas around Kilmore Quay, miles of land under water. Roads drivable again (Only just in places.)
Lest you have no exhaust or air intake to suck up water. π
I think that when set to 23 deg and the car heats up it cools off too much same as the BMW i3 and leaf, I bet if I were to put thermometer in the car it would be well below 23 Deg C. In all EV's I owned I had to crank the heat up.
Quick Question.
can you use multiple smartphones for the we connect ID app with the same account logged in.
I don't own a EV but where do they get the heat from? An electric heater is it? I can see how that would drain precious voltage from batteries. In a ICE the heat comes naturally from the engine so any drive and your bound to get heat. I remember an old car I had years ago and heat would come into cabin all the time even when set to cold. It was a old car so no AC. Really annoying on a hot summers day.
Yes.
Yes it uses an electric heater but in fairness I got so much range with the larger 77 Kwh battery that it's pretty much irrelevant compared to the time I had the 24 Kwh Leaf with 21 usable Kwh, the Leaf did have a heat pump which makes it more efficient but once the temp dropped below 5 Deg C consumption went up considerably.
The id.3 has option of heat pump but I didn't get it because it costs something like 1200 Euro's and the benefit to me would be 0 as I rarely drive to the limit or need to + again, the colder it gets the less efficient a small heat pump is.
Even the 58 Kwh has plenty of rage not to need the heat pump.
indeed
While driving down a lane last night had to move in to let an oncoming car go past. Slapped the wing mirror off a tree...
Anywho, will mk8 golf parts fit an Id3?
Hey electricus
Yep had the same issue with ours the week before Christmas. I tried all the tips online resetting infotainment nothing worked. A couple of days later it just came back itself. So far so good. VW told me it can take unto 5-7 days to resolve.
Mine has been good since I pulled the fuse a few days ago. Strange that this seems to effect individual cars at random but hopefully it keeps working now that itβs back.
What is the average lead time for an id3? I understand specification and trim levels can affect build times.
A tour took me 29 weeks from order to collection this week.
Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking of the tour 5. It would eliminate the need for using the charging networks even for long trips.
49 weeks for a T5
August 21 order
July 22 delivery
Oh dear. I've a Sept 21 order of T5 - Looks like I'll be getting a 222 car, if that's the case.
Does the dealer tend to throw anything in for such a long wait? Or do they still honour the trade-in value... My car will be almost a year older at that stage.
I knew the delay would be anything up to and from 6 months-
The quote was very clear, the price is the price for both trade in and the T5.
When I queried the low trade in price he mentioned the usual things like advertising, prepping the car etc and that it would be 6 months older, now it will be a year older but thatβs not on me.
Paperwork states what my final payment is in black and white.
I would look at any change to that as a breach of contract-
Note the T5 is now β¬3100 dearer than when I paid the deposit, again the sales guy was straight up and said that would be honoured and I was given that in writing.
First world problems )
Just spotted this on Youtube.
For those that don't like lane assist.
To stop Lane Assist being automatically switched on every time the car is turned on.
Haven't tried this as I like lane assist.

I also quite like the lane assist, now that I am well used to it. Perhaps I am a bit thickπ, but had a quick look at that vid and am none the wiser..
I agree, its bo**ox
Some of the mirror parts seem to be the same. The carbon look mirror caps VW sell are the same part number for some ID3's and Mk8 Golfs
What part did you damage?
Took the car down to NW Mayo over new years, left from South Dublin at 100%, tried to get a CCMOS charger along the way, there was one in longford and Ballaghdereen, neither we working. Limped into Swinford for the 22kw to get bump to make sure i made it to where i was going.
On the way back, left at 80%, stopped in longford and used the CCMOS for 20 mins. Had the car 7 months but this was my first (mixed) experience of ecars.
There is a 50kW charger in Ballina now - I used it on Sunday but only got 60kms in 40 minutes. Battery was at 40% and had driven about 20kms when i plugged in.
Just checked the app, not sure how i missed that tbh. When i pluggd in in Longford i was getting 47kw, but i could see the charging going up on screen.
Good to know its there
