You are attempting to claim this was a serious error, when it could just as well be a misstatement, taking the total deaths (including the suicides) and not clearly stating that. Also, are you really expecting Tommy Bowe to come back to him to fact check?
The real idiocy and gullibility about the event is the right wing trying to claim that it was 1st Antifa, then it wasn't really anything to worry about, then it was just people wanted to voice their concerns, then that Trump had nothing to do with it, then nobody had any weapons and on and on. That is clear disinformation and attempt to deny the reality.

Yes I agree. But it seems some are absolving them of blame to try and lay it solely on Trumps door. Some of these people traveled a long way to do what they did. They they are getting heavy prison sentences is good to see.

Until the Jan 6 committee concludes its investigations, we won't know who financed the insurrection, either, but there've been rumors that it was #2xIMPOTUS's backers. A (debunked) story had Ginni Thomas, the USSC judges wife, paying for busses. Turns out she was merely cheering the insurrections on.

It's difficult to know how deep various parts were played and even after the investigations are concluded I'd say that we'll still be quite in the dark on the larger picture. Trump is more than happy to let his circle of cronies fall, as we've seen over the past couple of years, while he remains quite insulated. There might be a few inconsequential heads rolling, but I can't see any major outcomes.
