It is there in the very first line
"Mary Lou McDonald is calling on the Government to provide free antigen tests to everyone, many of which could be dispensed through schools"
So if you are symptomatic and infectious, she wants you to call in to a school to pick up free antigen tests. What idiocy.
Why did you make that up? She wants kids to get tested at schools.
Its tradition to put an emoji after posting a sarcastic comment.
That is what the Examiner has reported. What it means when you think it through is that anyone who thinks they need an antigen test will be getting up off their sick bed and heading into a school to pick one up. As I said, as idiotic as it goes.
If the Government wants to distribute antigen tests, there are much better ways of doing it.
Fine Gael and Fianna Fail need to remind people that voting for Sinn Fein because you want to be able to afford a house one day or because you think the health services don't work properly is immoral. Anyone who would vote Sinn Fein doesn't deserve a house.
This reading is completely Bizzare.
The only way for this to be a logical infersion of the article,is if all the antigen tests were being distributed through schools......your interpetation and reading of it,is beyond the realm of partisanship and into simply a 'glinner' level of unhingement.
Come here to me though, what came of the government plans to post em out to people, who were close contacts??
Uh oh Paddy is at it again. This will send some into a tailspin. 🤣
If you go back and read my posts, you will see that I never said that Mary-Lou said that. What I was saying, and I stand over, is that Mary-Lou shoots off her mouth without thinking through the implications. If it is announced that everybody can get antigen tests through schools, which is what she is proposing, then it is inevitable that people with symptoms will turn up at schools to get such tests, which points to the idiocy of the original suggestion.
Even if it is only many of them being distributed through schools, you will have mammys at the gate with symptoms calling into the secretary to collect them. As I said already, it is a stupid idea and only attracting trouble.
The government has been posting out to close contacts, I got some.
Is Paddy now officially linked to Sinn Fein, or is this in the wrong thread?
You could, but won't, say the same about any location doing the same. You are talking absolute nonsense.
I know, right? He's only useful in the Leo under criminal investigation thread
His moronic rantings at least have some relevance there.
Distributing them through schools is a particularly stupid idea. There are other places - hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacies etc. - which are set up to deal with infectious people, schools aren't.
But hey, just another example of Mary-Lou talking before engaging her brain.
Hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacies are set up to deal with sick people, schools aren't. That is the stupidity of Mary-Lou's idea, as well you know it.
Apparently she’s doing a bit of ‘boxing’ to get fit for the election.
The word is she contacted poor Paddy C for advice and was advised to get into boxing.
Now the word on the street is that it wasn’t ‘boxing’ he said but ‘doxxing’.
Now I have no way of backing up that so all I can say is ML is kitted out and apparently could be a contender in the lightweight class.
Not sure who her management is but some say it’s GK management based in NI.
Time will tell.
Actually her bout of COVID led her to improve her lifestyle.
Anyone who tries to get themselves fitter and healthier shouldn't be sneered at, and those who do sneer should probably consider their own life choices.
I'm not a Sinn Fein voter - I probably never will be. However posts like this aimed at a woman, who in the past on here was targeted venomously because of her weight, trying to improve her own life are bang out of order imo.
Did you just? Wait... 🤣 Wondrous!
What a spurious and ignorant post.
I in no way targeted anyone or referred to anyones appearance in my post.
I merely reported what was in the news media and when ….I’m trying to find a word for people who stupidly try to infer from others posts stuff that is totally off the wall need to take a look at themselves.
My friend , please point out where I implied any such rubbish you ‘attributed ‘ to me in my post.
Otherwise get off the stage
Its your idea though not MLMDs. Thats the point.
Duplicate
You took the piss out of her taking up boxing. It's literally right there in black and white.
Are you going to sit there and say you didn't do this? You took her taking up boxing and then made some stupid remark about Paddy Cosgrave and 'doxxing'.
You can sit there and deny everything all you want and it might not have been your intention, but as I said Mary Lou's weight has often been a target here and she's working on getting fit and healthy and you're taking the piss out of her for it.
It's really not a good look.
This one popped up on google - 'The Irish Mirror' - of All things'
I thought it was wind up thing at first -
'Sinn Fein leader Mary Lou McDonald says she's taken up boxing and is fighting fit to be Taoiseach'
--
But it then made sense further softening of the SF image. Playing up to MLMD vulnerabilities re-covid. Boxing is the focus of 'life changes' .And it is implied she is meant to be symbolic of the changing SF. It is very cleverly done.
It can be read two ways - MLMD is a fighter - but only from a health point of view.
MLMD is a fighter for the Republican cause - you would not want to cross her when the gloves are off.
It works both angles of the SF support - new and old.
Kudos who ever thought about playing up to the 'life changing' boxing angle. Credit to the SF thinktank - slow normalisation - easy osey.
Who would read the Irish Mirror mostly? Working class 'southern voters'. Plus the piece can make MLMD chime more with the female vote.
Clever on a lot of angles.
Where is this “misogyny’ you post about Mr B
My friend, you are digging a hole for yourself.
where have I ‘taken the piss out of her because of her weight”
Now there are things I will accept and things I won’t accept and the latter is posters attributing
sentiments to me that have no basis in fact
So I intend to report your. post to the authorities and let’s see how it all pans out.
I never said it was only SF that voted against the development. I said the development only passed because FF FG and the Greens. Plus I gave a further clarification what I mean in case you did not understand my point that there was NO divergence in the voting from the SF councillors (on the development of the Oscar Traynor site) they all voted in one bloc.
I get the impression that you only see what you wish to see. And say what you are told to say?
Phrases such as 'civil war party think tank' is attempt to mask the fact that it is very rare there is divergence of opinion in SF. Which comes back to my point on the housing. No diverange a clear strategy.
How often does divegange is SF strategy seep into the public domain.
Also can you not look at your own comment objectively and see that you seem to want other parties to accept SF - warts and all. Yet you expect SF not to change at all because it is who they are? Can you not see the incongruence of the statement. And dare I use a favoured word from NI politics - intransigence?
SF are clever enough to know they HAVE to change in order to be a more palatable constitutional party 'down south'. FF when through the same change moving on from that militant SF.
And SF are trying to follow that old FF play book. They have even copied much of the FF political manifesto in the last GE - to get seats in the dail.
But it is different for them in the 2020's then it was for FF in the 1930's. FF had no foothold in NI so did not have to play to hardline NI republicans.
Eoin O'Brion is asute enough to know by going against the SF old guard - it distances him from the shady past that hardliners like you are 'proud of'. Days when SF did not recognise the state they now wish to run - shot Gardai, maimed. murdered and robbed banks. Were anti EU and inward looking.
EOB knows that SF have to move on from the likes of Gerry Adams. And at least look like they are 'sorry'. So the likes of Gerry Adams et al - will not undo years of creating an image of a less historically soiled, younger, and more progressive SF.
I never said you did. Either quote me doing so or just give it up.
All I said was...
As regards EOB, he rightly called out Adams. A councillor disagreed with EOB. Not much more to it. As regards looking like they are 'sorry'. Its on Adams IMO.
FF in the 1930s had people actively assisting people in the north (and breaking up blueshirt meetings)
....if your wanting to diverge from party policy, why would they remain within the party, such policies breed greed...i wouldnt join a party i disagreed with
I dont think the ex-provos have too much to "be sorry" for over a 30 odd year campaign......more and more info comes out weekly as regards the depth of collusion and what faced nationlists in the north....aspiring and driving for a utd ireland and defending your community is nothing to back away from....cullinanes apology around last election party speech, gives a v.good highlight of how people tend to view the troubles
Why should adams be sorry for singing xmas carols??
Liberials great saving plan for ireland is to remind people of sf "past".....they lean into it and all of sudden, its wrong to remember the past?
