Woodley has learned nothing from the first fight. He had Paul in trouble there and backed off again.

    Jesus.

I wanted to smash Fury betting wise against Paul and the fucker pulls out , he smashes Jake on tonight's evidence, very low standard of boxing.

Credit to Jake though, it's good gimmick he has going.

Taylor loses to Serrano who looked very good tonight.

Can't see Taylor winning either. Her recent form is not good enough and I can't see her stopping it up.

I have always felt that Serrano’s style and her punching ability would trouble Katie. She fights long as well.

Katie’s pitter patter shots will not be enough. I think Serrano has the better punch mechanics and fluidity. More variety, and she very good stamina.

Not sure Hearn and Katie will fancy it

Serrano will have to box a lot cleverer against Taylor, she's too hittable.

    Katie via UD.

Just a damn pity it wasn’t Tommy Fury on the receiving end!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,754 ✭✭✭✭The Nal

haha yeah. That'll be next. He'll have to take him seriously now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,161 ✭✭✭✭walshb

I reckon we don’t see that fight. Fury doesn’t want the risk of losing to a YouTube celebrity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,527 ✭✭✭✭ted1

i think Serrano will take it. While Katie is very technical, Serrano is a much tougher fighter who hits hard. I don’t think Katie has it in here. Katie hits (harder than me ) but not at the same level as Serrano

I could even see a stoppage

Theres a few people in that boat now. Have to hand it to Jake Paul. Hes nailed that "want to see him beat so much Ill pay" market.

Still think he'd be sparked by a proper boxer. Woodley is a wrestler.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,161 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Yes. Proper boxer, barring a fluke, beats Paul handily. Problem for Fury is that he’s a wee bit away from a proper boxer…

Woodley isn't a boxer and he was finished as an MMA fighter before he started this lark.

I haven't watched any of it, only reason I know the name Jake Paul is boards.ie.

Yeah the shame of losing to Paul would be unreal as he would never live it down.

These UFC guys know a fight with Paul is their last chance to make good money so they need the fight, Fury at 22 isn't in need of that pay day so he can bide his time.

Leave it out. Fury had an awful dose of the sniffles, and his tummy was awful sore!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 43,023 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

That's awful, always came across as a good guy. Hopefully he fully recovers, love his fighting spirit.

Don't think there will be a stoppage - the rounds are just too short in womens boxing for it to happen. I'd be worried if I was in Katie's corner. she has a tendency to do just enough and no more. I'd hate to see her lose her unbeaten record, but if she continues to hang around and box like she has done in the previous fights then she is going to come unstuck soon.

Smith will obliterate Callum Johnson....won't go past 6 rounds...

I see MIck is 2-1 on v Leigh Wood for their FW title clash March 12. Not sure this is for the actual world title, as LSC still seems to be holding onto this

But Mick couldn't have asked for a more ordinary opponent to allow him possibly pick up a version of a title

I think 2-1 on is a bit generous, really. I mean, to date, Mick has fought nobody.

Good fight I think and Mick will likely have to win with a bit to spare to get the decision in Nottingham. Hard to know where Leigh Wood is at but definitely seems he's an improving fighter at the moment.

Also great to see Gonzalez - Estrada 3 announced. Guaranteed fight of the year contender.

    Yes. Saw that..

    Ryder and Smith….. fcuk off!

And Jacobs…was so overrated that lad!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,976 ✭✭✭Morrison J

Happy for Ryder tbh. Deserves his chance at a big fight after getting robbed blind against Callum Smith. Will give Jacobs a good fight I reckon.

Definitely seen DAZN announce far worse. Might be light on big names but I think they're nearly all well matched fights which is the most important thing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,161 ✭✭✭✭walshb

Ryder was in his arse robbed blind v Smith.

    Terrible news for Farooq.

Obviously something not right medically, so hopefully he's ok and doesn't have any long-term issues.

From a boxing point of view, I'm disgusted, as I thought he had a beautiful style to watch and I honestly thought he could go a long, long way.

Eric Donovan to face two time Olympic champion, and Conlan 2012 conqueror, Robeisy Ramirez on Feb 26…..Taylor/Catterall card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,976 ✭✭✭Morrison J

And Gary Cully in a huge step up against Miguel Vasquez on the Conlan-Wood card. Really looking forward to that one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,161 ✭✭✭✭walshb

    Estrada/Chocolatito off!!!

    Estrada contracted Covid

but, Hearn pulls it off and makes Julio Cesar Martinez v Chocolatito March 5. Possibly an even better fight!

Taylor-Serrano looks to be a done deal for MSG April 30

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,353 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

Surprised but pleased the bookies have serrano outsider in that fight.

I worry for Katie in this one. She has been unimpressive in her last few outings.

Hopefully the status of the fight helps her raise her game because she'll need it to be Serrano.
