Bring! It! On!
I think whoever is awarded this championship it will have an asterisk next to it. Whether it's Lewis or Max which is a shame as it was a great season...
C4 highlights just getting to the good stuff with Mexico's Minister of Defence Checo Perez
This is an utter mess and instead of taking about the world champion for 2021 we are talking about everything else. I said I hoped the stewards and race director had learned from Saudi Arabia and it seems they didn’t as if they’d learned the lessons then we wouldn’t have had the end of the race being a mess.
I'm not sure, I think this could be overturned. On sky sports they're saying what I said earlier, it depends on whether or not race director can overrule the rules. If this goes against red bull micheal massi's position as race director is completely untenable, he'll have to go.
You can't just scrub a lap from the race ffs.
In fairness if you were watching the race then it was over, it was taking the leaders almost a lap at a time to lap backmarkers throughout the race. With those cars in the way Verstappen would have done well to pass 2 of them.
If they hadn't announced not passing then it would have been pretty much fine.
The number of protests being launched by Merc, are they doing it on the back of failed protests or just lumping them all in together?
Masi making up stuff and deliberately cheating one of the teams is a shame for the sport.
100% entitled to ask the question why the rules weren't followed ? That lap shouldn't haven't happened.
I wouldn't go that far, I think it's important the teams have some way to communicate with race direction. But it should be limited to one person, the team nominate a sporting director. Stop the team principals from having that access would be a good start
Mercedes bringing out the lawyers is a shame for the sport.
Mercedes can potentially appeal to the FIA and court of arbitration for sport if they lose the protest today.
damon hill complaining about red bull pressuring michael masi, did he not hear toto ordering Masi no to bring out the SC earlier in the race
Toto Wolff "We want to do our talking on track and win it on track".
'brings solicitor to race weekend and has to be reminded what a motor race is by the race director'
Boooo Mercedes booooo
But still no matter the outcome of all this nonsense we will always have, Toto Wolff "Michael.....nooooooo"
I was looking at twitter and all I could see was pictures of Hamilton with people crying and saying they still loved him.
Mental stuff.
Or maybe the weaving.
I always find that a strange protest though as many times including this time the car following mirrored the movements.
That wouldn’t even get a warning surely, you’re allowed to move outside of the braking zone.
I think that we need to stop teams being able to communicate with stewards and the race director during the race going forward. It's just not on how they try and sway decisions.
Lots of decisions this year were bullshit but because most of them favoured Hamilton anyone who challenged them was accused of conspiracy theories.
Bit of a farce tbh. They need to just settle on the result for the good of the sport.
Twitter.
Five Live reckon Horner giving a wink on way out
Desperate stuff, really. I mean the most that would get is a warning. Whatever about the FIA rule interpretation, Max did zero wrong in this race.
The only thing I can think of that Verstappen even remotely did wrong was pulling alongside Hamilton during the safety car, but that would be crazy to penalise with any kind of penalty impacting the result.
Even C4 commentary saying Hamilton should have given the 1st place back on Lap 1, so RB could counter any complaints about that incident
Mercedes will be blaming Max for causing Covid next, they are some bunch of hypocritical whingers.
Where are you getting these updates?
Red Bull now been called back to stewards over Verstappen conduct.
I'm guessing it was his application of "let them race". But nobody seems to know if he's actually allowed to do that
