Bring! It! On!
Like a lot of people watching today, I'm very much an inexperienced viewer, so trying to figure out:
what was the story with Perez being withdrawn at the end? He sounded surprised to be called in, and if it looked like the race might just finish behind the safety car wasn't it weird to not complete the race?
In hindsight they should have red flagged and give four laps on softs
rosberg- toto why didnt you pit lewis for fresh tyres?
haha this what we need to see later on
Yep Leicester 1 up against Newcastle
Max only led the whole race for about half a lap, but it was the most important half a lap by far.
Did they?
But for safety cars, RB had fúcked up despite pole.
The start was nonsense, but I don't think it made a big difference. Lewis' tyres were taking him past Max at some point in those first few laps.
You have to wonder if Michael Masi’s Mercedes contract only lasted the same number of laps as Lewis’ steering wheel count - quite a turnaround from allowing Hamilton to cheat and doing everything Mercedes tells him on the radio to suddenly applying the rules correctly at the end and talking back to Toto.
Was the red flag against the rules? Were the process for those safety cars completely disregarded in his favour?
The issue is not max benefitting t from the safety car, its that the race director deliberately made it easy for him rather than following the rules. The race director cheated Hamilton. Deliberately.
Kimi was winning it last I saw.
Beautiful.
Fair. Would you agree all the Hamilton conspiracy theorists can now shut up. Although they'll obviously be very happy at the moment! Haha
Verstappen on new softs and gained a lot of time with the safety car. Once the lapped cars had to move out of the way he would have caught Hamilton easily. Then it would be 50/50 and fair. What they did was basically left Hamilton as a sitting duck.
Same as the rule where a SC pretty much takes back all your advantage per safety car..
Same advantage is open to everyone. Even if Versappen didn't go back in he still had fresher tyres
nah fairly boring race.
Kimi I'd say, he had something like 40% of the votes
🙂
We’ll see you in March for the Bahrain race thread
Max has been amazing all season, not an undeserving champ.
But Hamilton was robbed.
I someone on twitter say what happened was like
Leading a football match 3 nil with 1 minute to go and the ref gives your opponent a peno and announces next goal wins.
Feels awful.
Is there anything in the rules about letting SOME of the lapped drivers overtake the safety car before a restart. If not, a travesty. wacky races. Done for entertainment purposes or to somehow balance out previous debateable decisions that favoured Hamilton. Except that this one looks like it wasn't debatable at all.
Who won DOTD?
Not gonna lie, the most exciting thing coming up is the Wolff interview
And if Michael Masi already applied for PUP
I don't understand how you can change tires under a flag and maintain your race position. Surely, you're being handed an unfair advantage. I know it's within the rules but it doesn't seem quite within the spirit of the sport
Season as a whole I think Max deserves the title..
not keeeping the proper distances and driving to slow to bunch up the field.
Another statistic today... after watching F1 for 50 years, including on the day of my own wedding, that's the last race I'll ever watch.
As "personalities" I don't have much time for either Max or Lewis. On track Lewis is incredible at car management and Max is a bit of a demolition derby driver... both entertaining enough in their own ways but... race management decisions and team principal bullying have removed any sport from the formula I love. Everyone seems to be saying that this was the best season ever, I strongly disagree and say that most of the turning points of this championship have hinged on politics, poor race management and team principals who seem to think they run the show rather than on wheel to wheel racing on track.
Because is massively favoured their boy max. They don't care about fair racing if their lad is the one that benefits from the rules being completely broken.
Just back from Sunday Lunch Birthday meal with the Mother in law,
Did I miss much? 😳
That's the whole point I'm making. Max could've and didn't, and that's what gave him the win. Lewis could've and didn't, and that's what lost him the win
