I just saw... Bummer
What a headmelt this must be to artists and venues. My heart goes out to them. I had Mick Flannery and SON in Kilkenny filed away next weekend as a little reward for myself and the missus. Who knows now what the story is there. Watergate theatre on to say they're looking at the options. Terrible for venues like that desperately trying to plan.
They'll either have to cancel the gig or cancel some peoples tickets to bring it down to 50%. Which is impossible
Aussie Pink Floyd in the Olympia now split into 2 shows. Early/late. Late show 10pm, doors 9.30pm, unreserved seating. Wonder will other gigs do similar.
Assume we've to wear masks at gigs indoors?
It's more than 50% because gigs have to be seated, so that brings vicar street and the Olympia to about 35%.
Probably. I know Tim Burgess played 2 shows on the same day just before they opened things up but I doubt that will be a viable option. Hells bells.
Looks like The Stunning tomorrow night in the olympia will be the last proper gig of the year.
Masks on at all times, only exception is when drinking !
Difficult to enforce, at some recent standing gigs, about a quarter, were not complying, but appreciate, its hard to enforce at a standing gig.
Some of these rules are so farcical and frustrating
In a nice pub called 'Against the grain' across from Whelans now. Is the nightclub(opium) entrance outside whelans or another part ?
Is it confirmed that gigs have to be seated? All I saw was the 50% capacity.
Aye.
Entertainment, cultural, community and sporting events will operate at 50% capacity and must be fully seated

Crap. Even aside from the capacity limits/financial problems for venues that means most gigs just won't be worth going to fun-wise.
I was hoping to go see new pagans on Thursday, but I don't want to sit down......
I've got grace Petrie on January 10th, that's gonna be interesting.
All seated with masks.
Christy Moore's gigs cancelled. https://twitter.com/IEArtsCulture/status/1467797742370054148?t=EktDBnUzZaixqQtPGKPiXg&s=19
I hope NPHET and the Government are delighted with themselves. Bullying industries when there is little/no evidence of data confirming they are the cause of the rising numbers
So so frustrating
Ash postponing their upcoming gigs. https://twitter.com/ashofficial/status/1467841986182983692?t=0xvsvOw4Z36c5EJgrJRhWw&s=19
Kodaline doing the same. Will see a lot of these announcements over the next few weeks unfortunately. https://twitter.com/Kodaline/status/1467855279907823627?t=m5PUpn2eaIpRvgmVl8SGXw&s=19
Any word on Damien Dempsey gigs at Vicar St?
Coronas postponing standing gigs in Olympia and putting on new seated gigs at 50% capacity https://twitter.com/3olympiatheatre/status/1467857946990292994?t=d6dYq3E77LsJgegELKwq8A&s=19
Mick Flannery and Susan O'Neill doing double shows for Kilkenny at least next weekend. Fair play. Everyone concerned working their asses off to keep the show on the road.
ah crap - was looking forward to seeing them on Friday in Galway...
Been looking all over the internet since last Friday and not a word being said...
Strange.... like what are they waiting for? 2000 people to request refunds so the rest of us can sit at tables😃
Inhaler have canceled their gigs as well
Ailbhe Reddy rescheduled from 10th December to 11th February. https://twitter.com/ButtonFactory20/status/1468158731032662019?t=qUhhYFfB_9JUS-EMR_rsZw&s=19
Any word on block rockin' beats with Dec Pierce?? Supposed to happen on the 18th of December
Villagers gigs in Vicar St cancelled. July gig announced for Iveagh Gardens. https://twitter.com/foggynotions/status/1468219889362116610?t=_oZg-QR4jHLQiHPSU_aaKA&s=19
Damien Dempsey isn't for a few weeks, promoters & venues would need to sort out the gigs in chronological order. Some promoters put out blanket message for now e.g. https://twitter.com/aikenpromotions/status/1468163374579998724
Saw Pillow Queens have split their show to an early & late on same day, others might do that. Can't imagine sitting in Vicar St for a Damo gig personally, especially a December gig. (I went to see the documentary "love yourself today" few weeks ago, two ladies in their 60s sitting near me. At the end one of them says "Ah Damo, he's a bit of a messiah really"!)
Can't imagine a seated Pillow Queens either. Cyprus Avenue wouldn't be the biggest venue either before seats nevermind only 50% capacity
