good clear night to see this going over…
Why has Dublin airport switched to runway 34 / 16 this afternoon?
Possibly because Wind is 300 degrees, 9kt
So closer to 28 than 34 then... must be some other reason.
28L was closed for a few hours for a scheduled inspection where they walk down it and look for damage or upcoming required works.
A jet2 737 took off from Dublin. Headed out towards the Atlantic and now has turned round and descended to 15,000 ft looks like it is heading to Shannon.
EXS030F from Dublin https://fr24.com/EXS030F/29fd07f8
I didn't know that Jet2 even operated from Dublin.
They don’t. It’s a post maintenance check. Regular occurrence ex DUB/SNN.
Dublin ops now using Rwy 34 due to strong northerly wins
Reverted to 28L once the winds came around a bit, around 2330.
Anyone know the reason why there is a HiFly A340 due into DUB tonight from CPT? Thought rugby connected but Munster are staying over there due to Covid positive player.
Cardiff, Scarlets, Zebre & Munster were all going to fly on one flight I think.
2 of them still able to fly.
Apparently Scarlets flew back into DUB, but then travelled on to Belfast to quarentine in a hotel up there.
That 340-300 was by coincidence down in Antartica last week
Excellent video about the event.
Which is why it was sitting in Cape Town!
I see Ewan McGregor's brother is up now 😊
Edit. Gone now.
.
Aberdeen to Waterford with LoganAir?!
Regular charter.
MD87 VP-CAA currently over Wexford inbound Shannon
Out over the Irish sea now. Kind of a bit odd how he seems to be the only one using a call sign???
Flight trackers show whatever the crew has inputted, which for military aircraft particularly may not be the radio callsign used.
I understand that, just wondering why he is the only one doing it? Is it an ego thing. Is it not him, but other pilots doing it as an in joke? Could it even be a security issue, even a very small one.
Well, I can't see how anyone on this forum could answer those questions.
Hi folks, first time here, Hi to all
Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4 on a joyride over stotland
Rescue 116 was up over Wicklow for an hour and a half last night from 10pm, circling continuously between Roundwood and Newtownmountkennedy villages. I suspect they were looking for someone lost on the hills, but can see no media reports this morning.
I saw them fly over me in D4 about 9pm alright, they didn't seem to be heading for the sea (as a sailor, my heart sinks every time I see them up, although I know a lot are just training exercises, but still)..... something usually appears on FB in the days following a callout, hopefully whatever it was had a successful outcome.
Worth keeping an eye on the Wicklow mountain rescue facebook group as well as R116 facebook page. Lots of updates there.
Firs time on this thread
Only discovered flightradar24 last week
Why is their a Norwegian doing laps of Shannon ?
I though they left a few years ago
There's a lot of them parked up due to covid, this could be one of the Norse air ones out for a test flight.
Also maintaining crew currency.
