Looks like rotation will play a key role in how this gameweek goes. Salah auto-captain.
GL all.
Cooper was on for a bonus before his assist I think. I watched bits of the Leeds all of second half. Raphinha did not seem to be creating clear cut chances. I seem to remember Shaw got a 3 bonus in a Man United game when he was on set pieces even though others missed the chances. Can't remember which gameweek it was. Creating chances seems to be a key thing for the BP's.
I always had Gallagher earmarked in for Raphinha after the Brentford - Leeds game. Palace and Leeds dovetail nicely.
Bamford is back soon which makes him even more appealing. Although it might mean he isn't on penalties going forward
yeah Gallagher is watched here too but Im not sure due to Eze returning, depends what Viera wants to do but Gallagher could drop deeper than Eze if they are both playing
I was surprised Raph was on the pen becasue I genuinely didnt have a clue who was on them in Bamfords absence. Though in that team Raph could just take the ball and nobody would argue. I'm looking forward to both Bamford and DCL getting back, they might finally solve the problem of the non-returning forwards.
Yeah I don't know what to do with Raph. Get rid or hold onto him and bench. I still have my wildcard and I plan on using it as late as possible (so probably just in time for GW20) so could get rid of him after the next game and get him back in on my wildcard but saying that I don't know who to replace him with.
Think Klich is second choice and Rodrigo missed one recently, pure luck that Raph took it but I'm not complaining!
One of the big differences is that Newcastle conceded. It's counter intuitive but if your striker scores just one goal, then the game finishing 1-1 is better than 1-0. 1-1 means his defenders aren't going to be high in the bonus.
A forward goal is also slightly better in the bps than a midfielder goal - its 24 for a forward and 18 for a midfielder (and just 12 for a defender) so that gives a single goal-scoring forward an advantage.

I always seem to bench Raphinha when he scores and he blanks when I start him.
First sub though, so I can deal with a Cancelo/James rotation now.
Thanks, that explains it pretty well. I wonder what though is their logic for only awarding 12 points to a defender goal but 24 to a forwards one. Would have thought it would be at least equal if not weighted towards defenders who dont get into goalscoring positions as frequently. Perhaps its becasue defenders have potential CS points available to them whereas forwards dont.
btw Armani good to see you back, hows your season going?
Id say a James rotation is likely now given he already needed a rest and now he has a knock as well, have Livra coming in for him if it happens.
I can never bench Raph, everything good Leeds do seems to go through him. Although they are pretty dire this season they have still scored in 11 games out of 14 and he usually plays some part when they just get a single goal but lose the game.
I guess they would argue it's balanced out by defenders getting two extra 'real' points for scoring a goal?
Cheers - it's going ok now. 650K which on the face of it is poor but is 6 greens in a row after being outside top 2M after week 8.
Missed out on a lot of the early points without ever feeling my team was terrible. Having Alonso instead of Chilwell for 3 weeks in October probably the only nightmare.
yeah Ive a rival who also fell victim to the Alonso/Chilwell coin toss. Its mad how these 50/50 decisions can go against you or boost your rank significantly. Im thinking back to GW1 where I was on the fence about going Buendia or Benrahma, took Benrahma in the end and 4 games later there was a 15 point swing between them.
Wilson had a couple more key passes and successful dribbles. More importantly Raphinha was successfully tackled 8 times. Wilson not once.
Reddit detectives are reporting a Liverpool ITK with a good line up reporting history has a leaked team without Salah or TAA...

I was 50/50 on making either Trent or Jota my vice captain. Picked Jota in the end thankfully.
No VVD, Trent, Thiago or Salah?
I don't want to believe that!
(Also never ever heard of that account)
I don't want to believe it either. Be mayhem if it turned out to be true!
Nah, sorry don't believe it.
Klopp resting Salah, Thiago, VVD and TAA in an away derby game against Everton where they need 3 points?
With Wolves at the weekend and AC Milan next week where he can rest players? No chance.
balls, that would leave me with no captain or vice. I just couldnt bring myself to give the vice to any of the forwards with TAAi in such good form. Its a surprising line up as well, Everton not great but its a derby so they'll raise their game significantly.
Just as an aside, I think it's generally good practice to have your vc in a completely different match, especially in winter. It gives some insurance against a snow/rain postponement of which there is usually one or two each season.
Then there's unexpected situations - an external security issue, covid cancellation, the Old Trafford pitch invasion etc.
Yeah I originally had it on Vardy but after Rodgers' comments I decided to take it off him in case he was benched. Not many other great options so went with Jota. Knew it was a risk especially after Spurs game was cancelled only a few days ago.
Speaking of Vardy. There is a leaked Leicester team sheet and according to it, he is starting.

And a leaked Man City team sheet. The original tweet has since been deleted.

Being subbed early is always an option instead of not starting altogether. If true.
True. Hopefully he has a hatrick by then. :D
Hasn't he form for fielding a weakened side in an away derby game though?
Typical, got rid of Foden for Gundogen :(
It is the Chelsea team I am more worried about - I have the double defence. Expecting a lot of rotation.
No Reece James
James not in squad.
