I'd actually agree that there's an incredibly cringe aspect of how major multinationals handle gay pride etc. Mainly because there's a marketing aspect. In this case, it's the Norwegian equivalent of An Post so it's really more regional rather than multi nationals engaging in marketing.
Criticism of this ad alone doesn't mean thinking that gay people shouldn't be represented in advertising.
If people were losing it simply over gay people in an ad for a supermarket or department store etc, then yeah, that would look like homophobia.

Theres a mix of reactions in this thread. Pointing out that some of the reactions are clearly motivated by bigotry and homophobia isnt saying all the reactions are.

It doesn't though. If that ad features a woman instead of a man, I would also find it a strange take on a Christmas fairy story. Nothing about a red cheeked Mrs Claus, but a hot younger woman like the hot younger dude in the ad.

More than a few seem to have been “removed”.
I would say the ones where the posters rant about woke are utterly fab examples. It's pretty much the same nonsense of the people who get upset about Superman kissing guys or Dr Who being a woman. It's people who are perpetually offended for homophobic, misogynistic or racist reasons. Frankly, the same posters tend to overlap for all the aforementioned reasons. It's this "anti-woke" bollocks that tends to infest the site.

Oh yeah, such an ad would be weird (male or female) but I don't see that happening in this ad.
Younger as in younger than Mrs Claus, whom you referenced more than once as if that's the only context in which Santa could be kissing a woman when making a comparison to this ad. Santa and Mrs Claus are old, so younger than them is middle aged.
