I will explain again. Youse aren't talking about the viability or logistics of an independent North, youse are using it as a stick to condescend to those seeking a UI.
Of course all that and the rainbows and unicorns will melt away when its convenient.
Why not give those seeking a UI the same respect as others? Is it because SF also want a UI? I think so.
One cannot really disagree with the above two posts.
Theres 38 mil outstanding in DCC aren’t they say, SF have been in control for quite some time, there are plenty of jobs going.?
These houses are in prime city centre locations, some of us find it difficult to square that circle.
Thanks.
SF had more seats on DCC than any other party for under 5 years, several years ago. Time to put that lie out to pasture horse.
Also was two ministers from another party arguing over the St. Michaels estate build during that time. Seems the housing and local authority minister thought he was in charge.
eh no i am not. To be frank, i have no clue what you are on about. If you want a UI fair enough, i too some day would like it. But mostly i don't see it happening in my lifetime. There is huge barriers to it. In both literal and figurative terms.
Its quite a simple statement i made. I respect both sides and i can put myself into the shoes of people who don't want to be part of a United Ireland. I totally accept the position of people seeking a UNited Ireland as well, once they can accept the issues we will face. So i don't understand your position at all. I also stated an independent NI won't be viable. And yeah i'd hate to see an independent NI more than i would it part of the UK. it would be a travesty. unfortunately theres 750k or so people who mostly don't want to be part of a UI. Their tribe has lived on this ISland near half a millenia.
My position has nothing to do with SF. but i will laugh heartily when they can't quite fulfill those promises they made to all and sundry. The housing people will be devastated when a UI becomes their priority. The hardline Republicans will be devastated when they go back to housing. It will be gas.
But no if SF respect the idea that a UI must be somewhat compromising then i will applaud them for that.
This is complete nonsense. You are ascribing motivations to anonymous posters that you don't know to suit your agenda of avoiding any hard discussion.
I will give respect to any person seeking a United Ireland who talks in terms of uniting the people first, as the Constitution requires, who talks in terms of the concessions necessary to the Unionists and who realistically addresses the issues of cost, harmonisation of tax and social welfare, removal of sectarian education and who will pay in the end for a united Ireland. Anyone who waves a green flag and ignores all of that doesn't deserve respect.
What “lie” do you refer to, my friend?
That regarding DCC:
SF have been in control for quite some time.
It's horse manure mo chara. Grand for fertiliser and nothing more.
So they haven’t been in control?
Is that what you are suggesting?
Is that what you are suggesting is a “lie”?
hmmm…….
No.
Yes.
Yes. This:
Even for the less than 5 years they'd most seats the two government parties had more combined.
More information coming out on the Michelle O'Neill corrupt use of vehicles issue, with this online article being much longer.
Slow news day?
Get on to your local MP Blanch :)
Connolly House might try to spin it like that, for sure.
Lot of rumbling in the distance….
did the sinn fein fellas ave you up to 345am bendar ? take a day off and stop worrying about them lolol
Any dodgy stuff should be addressed. Using the car? Well, I doubt they'll be closing down a branch to keep members quiet :)
Just coming in from work Bag, some of us have to earn our crust.
So you see nothing wrong in the corrupt abuse of Ministerial privilege? Or am I mistaken? Like what does it take for you to say that a Minister using an official car for private use is wrong.
you are correct, it's all about sf wanting a UI, or just SF full stop.
if SF were against a UI they would want it i can almost guarantee it.
in the great scheme of things it is not a big deal no.
she shouldn't have done it sure but its not going to make any difference to my and many others votes and it is nothing compared to what ffg have got up to.
I don't see a minister using their ministerial car for party business as a problem. I imagine half them get their shopping in them?
I can't take your outrage seriously. The amount of hilarious shite you defend.
Obviously it would be a tad easier to take this post seriously, had you not have numerous threads littered with dozens of posts defending much, much worse acts of "corruption" Blanch.
Zappone and Varadkar immediately spring to mind.
You know you're desperately only scraping a barrel, when you are linking to a story that basically seems to consist of that bigot Jim Alister, of the TUV having a moan.
I'd say you hitched your wagon to the wrong one this time Blanch.
Are you prepared to accept "lesser" acts of corruption from Sinn Fein?
Because that what it seems you are doing.
There is no argument here, no defence from the Deputy First Minister, just a shrug of the shoulders that she is entitled to get away with a corrupt use of the car. Is that something you are proud of?
Like, this is the Sinn Fein thread.
Good poll for SF, surprised that FF and FG didn't drop by more with their cock ups on antigen, and covid measures in schools. not to mention their laughable housing policy
Shinners polling numbers are almost equal to the COMBINED numbers of FFG.... Few lads and lassies around here will not like that.
but they'll like this even less.
Change is coming.
And a United Ireland poll would be lost if it meant higher taxes according to that poll.
The Ballot box is usually more reliable, I have found.
another way to read that is that over 40% of people would be prepared to pay higher taxes if it meant a united island of ireland .
unionists and no men are literally on the way out , the only person i noticed spinning it your way was jeffrey donaldson by the way , which will tie in with your siding with the tuv over the weekend .
lolol
That 40% pay little taxes away, one would suspect.
polls ignored if they don't suit , and then the very thinly disguised dole scroungers applied to them too
never changes wit you bendar
I'm sure SF would be chuffed to know you hold them in such high regard that one of them using the ministerial car for party business disappoints you so.
I thought the car was a perk to be used as they wanted. Learn something new as they say. The fact that you would label this 'corruption' is noted.
This is a SF thread. No need to bring in the 'our own' of other parties.
