Thanks.
Is anyone here interested in sharing an apartment in Castletroy? I haven’t put it up on daft yet. 2 bedrooms, large apartment. DM for details.
Make sure u get the right clientele now you dont want it wrecked or have them skip paying bills /rent with you.
Laughing @ the state of the work that is o connell street the bus could barely clear the corner last night thought he was going to have to reverse. bollards to left of him & a big fence then on the right. No brains there when plainning,a cowboy job it is going to be.
The new function of the lights by watchhouse cross is now a permanent nuisance for the bus heading towards Moyross. When somebody (coming in Longpavement) stops at the 2nd set of lights(now 2 different sets) and they stop right at the white line then the bus(coming from their left) doesn't have enough room to make the turn. Elementary stuff by people paid to design and build roads.
ya i heard that from one of my colleagues that traffic & the whole set up is a joke out there.you actually wonder is college gone that easy now that they are just handing out degress to everyone. Half of them havent got a clue what they are doing.
Maybe I'll get used to it but at the moment I keep forgetting some of the lights and breaking reds.
Also the cycle lane is a half arsed joke when it would have been just as easy to do it properly. Cycling on paths is illegal but yet they put cycling crossing lights with the pedestrian ones which is really confusing.
Havn't been on boards in years!! I actually created this thread, well part 1 over ten years ago now, there was a sound bunch on here.
Just thought I'd share that if anyone cares 😂
Don't worry most of the non sound nutters are still here 🤣.
Pretty sure I fall in between the 2
Good to hear that 😂
There are still some of us around from those days but Boards itself seems to have died a death after the latest site revamp.
Still here, different username though. I remember you starting the thread back in the days!
I think I managed to get to 1 or 2 beers back in the day.
Prepare for traffic chaos around the already very busy Punches Cross, the vaccination centre is moving to the former Scoil Carmel site.

If boosters are going to be done by walk in clinic it's better off in the city. Seems like there will be a park & ride too for anyone worried about traffic
Patrickswell was a bit of a trek to get to for the walk in I went to. Didn't stop me going but logistically wasn't fun to get from work and back
Aside from the increased traffic, this is good.
I wonder how long it will be before they start complaining about the traffic 🤔😂😂The residents.
Oh agreed, the problem is New Street is backed up to the roundabout and beyond in the mornings and at school collection times already, this ain't going to help things.
Most of the car drivers will complain about the traffic and the same ones will also drive right up to the door rather than park somewhere else in town and walk up.
The road is open beside Mc Donald's crescent again so no more going around the long way 😀
Ah great to hear lads. It is alot quiter now!
Was the housing market always this quite in Limerick or is it just the current situation? Literally weeks go by with nothing worth looking at coming up.
Ya a bit.
There is no shortage of properties for sale, it's just that prices are increasing at a rate which may soon be comparable to those of the Celtic Tiger era. Rental property is fast disappearing as landlords are exiting the market in their droves and selling their properties. The average number of homes available to rent in Limerick City on any given day now is twenty five. Pre-Covid, it would have been three times as many.
If the landlords are selling in droves why is the buyers market so high and barren ?
Most renters can't just decide now that the rental market is tight to click fingers and buy so they are not taking up the houses
Yes, buying a home these days is beyond the reach of many people, even those in well paid employment but there was always sufficient availability of private rented accommodation to meet demand. The local authorities will never build enough units of what they call "affordable housing" so there has to be an alternative supply for those who can afford to buy. If not, we have a homeless crisis. The high level of taxation applied to rental income - fifty percent - is another disincentive for property owners.
Anyone know if University of Limerick campus is open tomorrow?
Closed till 6pm according to their Twitter
Thanks. I'm meant to get meet my supervisor tomorrow. May wait till Thursday morning instead.
Some amount of little scumbags/little gurriers around the Crescent, u love to give them a kick up the arse & teach them some manners.
Has anybody attended the walk-in clinic at Scoil Carmel for a booster jab today? Just wondering how long the queues/waiting times are.
