Gigs announced this morning .
September 9th & 10th .
Of course it can be challenged, in Court.
I be surprised if the 3 extra concerts ever g ahead as one act to sell 160,000 takes a bit of doing... i always thought it was a way of changing the parameters of the planning or whatever people want to call it...
Who would the action be against... Council or Croke park or both...
Highly doubt that, watch how quick these two gigs sell next week. I'd agree that the hype from 2014 won't be as high though. But just because they have a license for five dosent mean 5 will actually happen. It will obviously depend on the initial demand.
maybe initially the tickets will sell out next week but we will have all the production seats etc released over time
Ill be happy just to get my ticket ASAP to get out of the way

The City Council only as licencing authority. They've no legal basis for a case against Croke Park cos the only thing broken was a Gentleman's agreement and applying for stuff isn't an offence.
They can go after the City Council, however, for acting beyond their powers in granting permission for excessive development (in this case a disruptive and unsustainable level of event licencing)

We was right all along ;)'
Going by aikens insta the press conference is happening this morning which I'm guessing will include garth appearing.
Nice owl life Garth has to be able to fly over here on a whim
The perks of being a massively successful artist I'm sure
It's called PR, I'm sure he loved rocking out after an overnight flight to stand in front of a screen for 15 minutes before flying back again straight away.
Hope he remembered his passport this time......
?????
He knows the fool's over here will pay out to see a dinasour ...has anyone wondered why ireland only country in Europe he doing shows ??its cos 99 per cent of rest of Europe either has not heard of him.or knows he is pompous old country and western singer.who has declined so much in past decade. Its laughable...he would not sell
100 tickets in any other country..he jst laughs at us and Can't believe we give him millions. .a sad sad man and sad sad people we are .but he is sad man with a few more brain cells
I'm sure he's comfort his sad life on top of a large pile of money surrounded my many beautiful women. To paraphrase the great Ranier Wolfcastle.
Did he sneak in in a mail sack the last time or wha?
Hopefully everyone who wants a ticket gets one esp if its 5 gigs
Surely if he wants more gigs he could play Pairc Uí Chaoimh or Thomond Park to spread it around the country a bit. It's not as if those going to Croke Park would all be Dubliners anyhow.
He has plenty of time to explore Ireland with the week gap
So instead of 5 nights in one building with a custom built setup that can be recorded for a dvd release,he should do twice as many gigs and pay 3 times as much money in set up and break down so the muck savages can feel included?
They're already dreaming of warm cans of cider on the train to Dublin.
I mean if he can't get playing the 5 gigs in Dublin he could add a few around the country and potentially sell as many tickets.
Aikens made a big fanfare about Croke Park being, the ONLY venue in Europe that he will play in 2022, allthough this could be changed i suppose !
I don't think there is any need for terms like "muck savages" to be used in response to a very valid question.
Ed Sheerin did it a few years ago and there must be a good few other examples over the years. No doubt there would be plenty of people with a passing interest in Cork, Killarney, Galway etc who would attend there instead of travelling. Maybe the costs of transport etc would be overly prohibitive for the perceived benefit but you'd never know.
Tickets for this are onsale at 8am , what a stupid time.
Thought the same but luckily I'm wfh so it's fine for me
I can never understand why tickets arent put on sale at accessible times to people, 11am or even 1pm or 6pm.
8am and 9am is a relic of the old days when tickets went onsale at shops and agents, as they opened at that time, its completely out of date nowadays.
Once I get sorted I don't care what time it is
Can see the 3rd show for the 11th Sep going on sale pretty quickly Thursday morning. The other 2 the following weekend could be put on sale at a later time (only speculating so don't bite the head off me, some users will do it at whatever opportunity)
I wonder if it's a psychology thing, put people in a time squeeze before work and they're less likely to second guess where or how much, like grabbing the overpriced sandwich because there's a queue for the deli kinda thing.
I have a few friends who will go to every one of these concerts if they can get tickets for them all.
Fair play to them but once would be enough for me
