Just announced on publicjobs.ie Facebook page that 2022 TCO will open this Thursday 14th October
No link as I'm too new still
Results are in!
Me too, they’re really after shaking up the recruitment process; we don’t know what’s coming next
Got it too.
I had my hopes up for getting the results of stage 1 today ☹️
I got mine too
Mine must be stuck in wires somewhere 😂
Just got the survey
Hopefully next week we’ll get it 🤞
Got this too.
Just got this
Not yet.
Just to be sure I checked my spam and see I've been gifted so much bitcoin and Veneranda Aquino has offered me 15% of 6.3M in return for my bank details, so I really don't need this job now .... 🙄
Anyone receive the location survey email yet?
Furry, FYI Re: CO..

Thank you for your in depth informative response very helpful i must say.
I frequentes the local housing office when i was a Local Authority tenant so the ladies and gents at the front hatch im guessing they would be the COs.
At this moment i would like to switch careers and the civil service has interested me for a while.
Its just with my income now and the mortgage i can't afford the drop In salary. I guess my mortgage has me tied to my job which is unfortunate. 3.3k after tax per month. Shift work.
On side note would a CO position be a pathway into Irish water. I see many of the vans driving around but i yet to meet one guy doing work. I just wanna ask them their job title.
L&D meaning? Learning and Development - training courses, etc. They actively encourage it.
By Public sector you mean civil service right? Civil Service, Local Government/Authority
Once your full time you have a job life. It's more about work/life balance but, yes, you're less likely to have to worry about losing your job.
From what i heard is that civil service jobs are cushy, your out the door when the bell rings, off all the bank holidays and you can do flexi time start to pick up drop off the kids etc. This is NOT my experience. I have worked in two very busy departments where I would be going all day long to keep up with the volume of work. Some days I put in extra hours to get it done. Flexi time has been suspended since the onset of Covid-19 and the WFH directive but depending on your Dept. you can stagger your work hours to suit school drop-off/pick up. Bank holidays are not just for public sector/civil service.
What sort of work does a Clerical Officer do. That depends on the Dept. you're in but in essence you're there to support the EO's and HEO's. You could be dealing with the public or you may never have to engage with the public. Some areas of responsibility are data entry, filing, taking calls, emails, doing payments, and basically anything you're asked to do by the EO's and HEO's.
L&D meaning?

Would that be a true estimation.

There is no job security in the private sector.
CO is entry level and gets your foot in the door. There is also great opportunity for L&D and promotion within the public sector once you're in.
Pass probation in most jobs= job security.
What is special about CO.
TCO jobs are mainly used to build experience. CO, if you pass probation, =job security.
Thanks furry.
Why is there such a high demand for these roles.?
Thanks! Me too! The email is noreply@qemailserver.com & it won't let me save it to my email contacts, says the email is invalid for some reason 🤷♀️
I thought it was a bit weird to get the email. I’ve filled out a few location forms before. I checked on here to see if anybody else had gotten the email too. I tried to save the email too it wouldn’t let me I’m going to be checking my spam folder 20 times a day now 🤷♀️
Yes I did! Literally just logging on here to ask the same question! As far as I understand from it, it's to establish what department within your chosen county you would prefer to be placed in, should you be successful at stage 1 - assessment questionnaire..
Tried saving the given email address, as advised to my email contact list, but it keeps telling me the email is invalid? Anyone else?
it has a different meaning here, nothing to do with drink 🤣🤣
Wonder what that's all about.
"In the horrors" must mean something different where you live.
🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺😵
Phew! Thought I was the only one, I was in the horrors 😱😱
Just got it now.
