People give out about the fedex system but I've no idea who can win the race to Dubai.
Actually quite embarrassing, the guy has played a handful of events why the fe*k does he get a life membership? (Nothing against Morikawa, I'm sure he's a really nice guy). It's just embarrassing how much the European tour pander to the big players
Shot by Shot available this week like the pga tour. One less thing to complain about
Absolute drivel from that moron Pelley. As far as I can make out Morikawa (who seems a nice lad) has been to Europe once in his professional career for about ten days to play in the Scottish open and the Open this year. He is making his second appearance at the Dubai event. And this fool is remarking how much he loves playing on the (soon to be extinct) ET.
If you are an official member of the European Tour and you win a major then they award you the lifetime membership. Regardless of age/nationality.
Plenty of Danes going well
McGinley before McIlroy teed off on the 1st:
’I truly believe if the Masters was on in the next few weeks it would be his best chance of winning, especially with the form he’s on’
More great hyperbole from McGinley about something we’ve heard umpteen times about McIlroy and the Masters before.
You could say that for a lot of players. How is McGinley still getting tv gigs. His rates must be cheap
Mcilroy v Lowry final Sunday pairing would be good
I find I difficult to understand the hate for McGinley that some people have on this forum. Just saying …
I don't hate mcginley, I just hate his commentary
Has he changed his tune 360 yet?
McGinley likes to repeat himself constantly as if people watching have just turned on.
For all the drivel McGinley spouts, he is actually very informative. He will tell you about the fairways and the greens and his colleagues have now started doing that as well but they still don't explain it in as much detail nor with the same intelligence as he does.
What a stinker of a break for McIlroy on 15. Hits the flag and into the bunker to cost him the lead.
That's the tournament over for him, should have been a few more ahead, awful luck.
Very unlucky there Rory. Has he the nuts and guts to shake it off?
Morikawa is some player ! He will win a lot
15 was terrible luck but 16 showed he had lost the head
Well he had just watched Morikawa roll in the birdie putt putt ahead so he knew he needed 3 birdies to finish. Once that first putt didn’t go in he would have known it was done.
It was a poor wedge shot in from where he was though
Iceman when the pressure is on. He's fond of a final day low score too. He'll get up near tiger/Nicklaus for majors IMO. Only 23 so I can't see why not
There's more Open places available for the Jo'burg open than the Irish Open, 3 of the top 10 not already exempt will qualify for the Open Championship, not sure what they're trying to achieve with the DP Tour.
Well I know, a more global tour, but they can't qualify 3 guys at every one of their myriad stops.
Thats the R+A though not the tour i assume? 3 places at this years Irish open were made available, i havent seen what the plan is for 2022.
15 players have withdrawn at start of day 2 due to the new variant concerns, all 4 irish players included.
The afternoon could have more drop outs.
Farr -3 and cat 16 player and he's gone. Big decision. I guess these want to be back in Ireland and UK for Christmas while others not as pushed and will play 3 weeks down there.
Will be interesting to see if the remaining Europeans will pull out now after the directive to stop air travel to southern Africa. Especially as the European tour have removed themselves from the remaining SA events and the SA Open only to be sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour next week.
Them removing events is a bigger change. Was that decided before players start quitting.
Finishing after the 3rd round tomorrow
Nearly 2 months till the next euro tour event on jan 20 . That’s mad
Are they still giving away 3 open spots?
