What the actual F.... fifteen grand.
I wonder why it was resprayed from its original white colour.
I remember seating in the passenger seat of them when I was a child and the heat from the engine comes through, great in a cold spell not so great in the middle of summer.
Bull bars (most of them) are pedestrian killers.
If it wasn’t a very nice van to drive, I’d offer €10k .
€2500 help me understand 🤣
I sold my dad's for him in 2019,it was a 2001 with very low milage,I had it up for €2500 and let it go for that. I was blown away by the interest in it though and probably could have got a good bit more.
However that ad is probably the biggest p1sstake in this thread and wins dreamer of the year for me.
Genuine lack of supply, brexit, media stories of cars appreciating 50% since last year = chancers like this.
If you’re selling a car for less than a grand at the moment, you’re doing something wrong :)
it’ll all correct itself eventually, and this will become €500 again.
theres a 30-40% drop in Car listings on websites since Jan this year alone, so you end up with all the crap getting expensive - it’s the same market dynamic to the house rental market for example.
carzone is down to nearly 26,000 listings. It’s rare to see it less than 40-42,000 in a normal market.
Yes but how will it correct itself?
The supply of 70,000 2nd hand cars annually for the UK is cut off, demand for 2nd hand cars is the same or greater because of delays in ordering new cars. This isn't going to right itself in a year or two.
We'll be looking back soon on the years before 2020 with nostalgia and boring the hole off young lads telling them about being able to buy a decent 10 year old car for 8k.

the owner may of lived near the sea but did he park the car right on the water line
I believe the UK imports are only uneconomical for importing directly yourself, but it still makes sense for garages - however the cars have also increased in price in the UK
what is the difference? garages have to pay VAT and VRT as well.
Garages are VAT registered so they can reclaim the VAT unlike private importers
I asked this Q a few days ago in the Uk importing thread.
the SIMI report at the weekend shows 40,000 imports Jan-Oct, down 40% v 2019, but it’s still a big number for something that’s not supposed to be economical anymore.
apparently dealers don’t pay the vat on proof of exporting the car, and then the customs duty and VRT is charged on a lower amount, so individuals aren’t importing but dealers are.
VRT is the same for private vs dealer. But you are right about the VAT and customs duty.
Fair enough, however that VAT they can claim back or saving if you like is not being passed into the customer. So essentially our supply of 2nd hand cars has been halved from the UK,demand has remained the same or higher as there are issues with ordering new cars and there's no end in sight that I can see.
It just can't be explained to me how the market will right itself in the short to medium (to arguably ) long term.
Asking €100000 (Yes 100 grand!) for a Duster just because it's apparently the only RHD 4WD petrol produced. I thought it was a pee take at first but looking at the comments I think he's serious. 😂🤣
Is there a big collectors market for Dusters?
well I don't think its difficult to see where this market goes in the short term - with a shortage of new/imported cars into the top of the funnel, then older cars will simply be kept on the road longer
I think it’s obviously a joke, he sounds like a messer, although he’s dragging it out.
Is the lucozade sport included?
That's just the starting price... He wants more than €100k! I wonder how much he bought it for as that surely would be one heck of a profit if he got even close to asking.
30 seconds on one of the UK used car websites turned up another 11 RHD 4wd petrol Dusters
They go from 20G-30G so being 4x4 he must have spent €30G. He is off his head. Sure it probably doesn't have locking diffs or deffo no LSD's.
Nobody in there right mind would give him €30G for that never mind 100 grand.
No dual range gearbox either.
AWD rather than 4WD.
Tough decision really if you have a €100K to drop on a SUV
2022 BMW X5 45e M-Sport....or....2019 Dacia Duster
I offered him 95k for it.
I’m tempted to go 95100.
I really doubt it, but if this is real, we can retire ‘dreamer of the year’ forever!
Offer 96k, but only if the lucozade is included.
Ha ha...gold.
I bet nykolas2001 will have spent all night on Daft.ie
He doesn't realise Dacia are a budget brand and the only reason someone buys one is they are cheap to buy new.
