that was a planned 2rn outage (Knockmoyle), it may be off today as well. 102.9 Killarney would be better off powered down when the incoming feed fails, as it would allow reception for some of the southwest Kerry Spin transmitter (Kilkeveragh) on the same frequency.
Indeed. 2FM was switching between 92.2 and 90.5 with 91.7 being the best in a small set of areas. 90.5 would be a good option for parts of Killarney where 90.6 is weaker and 92.2 suffers from multipath but the interference between 90.5 and 90.6 usually degrades this too much.
RTE's 252LW currently off the air today for More Maintenance
Most maintained transmitter in the country!
Least listened to also? 🙄
Is Dab in Dublin gone?
no as far as i know, it is apparently very low power though.
it could possibly be off air but i don't know.
Checked earlier, was unable to get DAB signal. As above, it may be on but I’m not receiving it today where I am.
This evening Ice Radio looked like they were off. There was Middle Eastern music playing. Bad quality.
any other other news fellas?
Fresh 87 now on DAB in Cork. Given the number in their name I presume FM is in the works. Seems to be an evolution of the old Power87 which was quite popular and survived on FM for quite some time.
BAI temp station Blackrock College Radio on air in Dublin at 94.3. No RDS. This is their last day on air AFAIK.
91.6 is displaying “musica” .. I’m guessing this is Phever signing on for some weekend fun.
Star 105.7 playing 1980s music.
no sign of Energy AM on 1395 yet but Caroline were banging in on 648khz just now. This is all at Milltown Luas stop!
edited to say that Energy were on air about 7pm
Usually quite enough with little or no selection of anything decent to listen here in Wicklow but BBC R2 is booming in from North Hessary Tor.
Any other UK signals? 88.1 around there could also be Sandale in Cumbria, which the tropo maps would seem to concur with: https://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo_nwe.html
Ah ok, Sandale makes sense then.
Classic on 100.7 is there but too noisy, that's normally all year round, but usually BBC R1 99.4 & 99.7 come in along with Classic 100.2 in good to moderate conditions.
I heard Star1057 this evening on 105.7FM. It is particularly strong around the south-east of Dublin. Unusually for this station, I heard a live presenter. I think the last time I heard a presenter for this station was last year. Before that it was possibly two years ago when it had another alter ego of The Vault. More often than not, since I first heard it near the end of 2017, it has been The Beach playing chilled dance music, which seems to have always been on automated mode. Most recently, when I tuned in, when there was something on 105.7, it was Star1057 - last Monday in fact (rather unusual for a Monday). I wonder have they decided to stick with the adult pop and rock oldies route and finally ditch their dance format. As was pointed up above, it was 80s music this evening, but it hasn't always been when it has been Star1057.
100.7 is probably from Wales, as is 99.4 but different transmitters. I can hear 99.4 at times in Dundalk. 99.7 Divis, Belfast. 100.2 Isle of Man?
95.2 on your list is Lyric from Clermont Cairn in Louth. That's where your RTE on 87.8 and 97.0 are coming from.

No 98.3 in Dundalk?
98.3 BBC Radio 1 from Camlough? If it was off it is back on.
Free DAB in the north east has dramatically improved the range where it can be received.
Can be picked up as far as Drogheda. Also a fantastic selecting of stations on it.
Is Free DAB alive in Dublin? I scanned DAB in the city centre but nothing heard today.
Yeah, I'm still receiving it here in D9. I wonder where it broadcasts from that it's signal is so elusive.
Hey all VibeFM here hope you're all having a goody, check us out on www.vibefm.ie let us know how we are sounding.
Radio Caroline blasting into west Wales coast on 648 khz -- newTX installed apparently .
Big signal on -mad lad's sdr -where is he these days ?

I was not able to receive FreeDAB (Dublin) today. I was listening to it last night. Same radio, same location.
Caroline is very strong in Dundalk. Probably have increased the power. They have a message about work being carried out.
"Service Message: Thursday 25th Nov: There are currently works going on at our 648 AM transmitter site - there may be some interruptions"
they were granted a power increase a while back.
Reported as being 4 to 5 Kilowatts.

Explanation with photos on the Caroline site and a reception report request .

Caroline very strong on the North West and Donegal SDR's. Irishman on from 7 to 9 pm, Martin O'Brien.
Martin is from Cork City in Ireland. He grew up listening to the many pirate stations that came on air throughout the 70's and 80's in Cork, eventually getting to work on a few of them including South Coast Radio.
After taking a completely different career path he made his way back to radio in 2008 working on internet radio station Replay Radio and also with Radio Seagull. Now he is on "Europe's First Album Station" and he is loving it.
Any sign of any Xmas tests?
