Have you ever heard of such nonsense? Since when does a band i.e. a collection of musicians, have a gender?? Will the Gorillaz have to change their names? Was anyone actually upset by the name? I was never really a fan of the band but the name led me to believe they had a sense of humour (how wrong was I).

Unfortunately they have gone down the route of pleasing the SJW mob who don't understand irony.

Lankum changed their name from Lynched a few years ago but not to the same level of confusion from their fans. If they had one eye on touring the States you can understand they might have some issues with the name.

Gilla ain't much better, pretty sure that's Aussie slang for a vagina.

I didn't say I was offended. My original comment was querying whether it was females being referred to as a "negligible minority" as descibed by the original message that I was responding too or whether it was feminists or womens rights in general that was a negligible minority. Yes a group or association of people can give give an indication of the gender of their members by the name of tbe group. I'm not PC enough to get into discussing non-male or female genders without offending someome in the modern age so I'll stick to the simple case of men that identify as men giving the impression from the name of the group that they are a band females. They are not a group of females so they shouldn't use the name.

Yeah, hence why the name ultimately was more creep of men into piggybacking on womens equality movements. I don't want to get into the modern gender definition argument so I'll keep to traditional definitions at the risk of offending but festivals have an active target of trying to have more female representation. It probably wasn't the bands original intention but anybody not familiar with them and looking for a new act at a festival might reasonably assume they were going to see a group of females.
