I for one do not believe he shot them people out of self defence and never meant to kill them. I think he intended to kill them and thought he would get away with it. The Judge as well is a joke. What a very strange trial. Only in America.
Yes. Which is why the possession charge was dismissed.
Was he legally allowed to possess or use the gun in Wisconsin? Technically, he didn't own the gun, Dominick Black bought the gun for Rittenhouse using Rittenhouse's money and was holding it in Wisconsin until he turned 18.
Interesting closing from the prosecution so far ,
One thing wow that's a real gotcha 😂
police in USA aren't able NOR obliged to help you - see 2005 supreme court ruling .help yourself and your community , the only communities where BLM and Antifa were run out of were the ones where the community protected itself. Last summer the police were weak as piss in some areas in the USA.
we have this quaint attitude to the state and garda as if we are all one happy community or friends in ireland and project that to other countries where it doesn't exist
I hope Rittenhouse walks free. he should be given a presidential award for shooting communist peados and rapists
No. If you are a local I'd have more time for that. Police are trained, I know were talking the USA, but the idea is the police are better suited.
Based on his online presence and the facts thus far.
You have been wrong on so much, its almost impressive.
This. Precisely because he couldn't purchase or possess it in Illinois.
Something I'm not sure folks really understand, but the people who know the most about gun laws and exactly where the limits are tend to be the gun owners. It's the difference between what people at large 'think' to be legal or illegal without any particular vested interest if they're right or wrong, and those of us who want to possess firearms with the very vested interest in not going to jail. In other words, we are more likely to read the fine print, like "Only applies to rifles with short barrels."
The gun was bought and kept in Winsconsin.
JFC.
The gun was bought in Illinois ,he wasn't legally entitled to own the gun in Illinois, did he not transport it across state lines ,
Ok you might argue the straw purchase ,but the fact it's been publisised thorough the trial process they might Illinois may decide they have to do something to acknowledge that and to be shown they won't allow similar to happen ,
I know Wisconsin dropped the weapon charge , but that wouldn't stop Illinois from charging him for offenses in that state ,
Unless you know otherwise ?
He didn't have the gun in Illinois. What possible weapons charge could Illinois press? May as well charge an Irishman in Ireland for having a machinegun when he's in Las Vegas where it's a tourist attraction.
More like shown up to be failures being they were armed themselves backed up by armour ,and needed outsiders to deal with the riots , while they turned up average Joes they did little to quell the rioting or helping law enforcement
Periodic reminder that “fact checks” are propaganda and opinion, and are seldom informative.
I think some of the law enforcement officers might argue with you on that point. Many of them were quite grateful for the help they got from armed citizens protecting businesses and homes.
Lol. Ok.
If people were setting your family's neighbourhood ablaze and although the police were present, they were unable to stop it, would you just say "hey, not my job" and sit back and let it burn?
You're a good man.
It’s been dismissed because it was legal for him to possess it.
So no, they won’t.
Insurable damage by the "mostly peaceful" BLM thugs ran to over 2bn.
How will they be able to pursue further weapons charges against Rittenhouse given double jeopardy n'all that?
They are pursuing further charges against the person who bought the gun on behalf of Rittenhouse (or at least supplied it to Rittenhouse).
Wonder if the state of Illinois will persue weapons charges when this is done
Some people are going to be running out of arguments, legal arguments at least.
Some estimates put the costs of the riots, as high as 50 million.
Sounds like someone needed help. Perhaps not from armed citizens, but someone.
It's that what law enforcement are for ,
Being they were there in large numbers and MRAP armoured vehicles ,
They didn't need amateurs running around the place playing soldiers
Cool. Do you support the right of people to defend a town from illegal rioting and looting?
It's my opinion he didn't go for the craic. I'm basing my opinion on the evidence given in the trial. What are you basing yours on?
I don't support armed vigilante street justice. IMO he went there for the craic.
The middle of "it". What is "it"?
Is "it" a bunch of rioters intent on burning down buildings, acting violently towards anyone stopping them, illegally carrying weapons, looting etc?
And you think we should have less people trying to prevent them doing it?
I agree the average punter doesn't put themselves in harm's way, but I am thankful to those who are willing to.
Or do you believe that this was one of the "mostly peaceful" riots we hear so much about? Dyou think if Kyle Rittenhouse wasn't there "stoking tension" it would have been a darkness into light style vigil for the victim Jacob Blake who was brutally shot while doing nothing wrong?
Last I read he was carrying a firearm illegally. Now it seems he took the gun from a friends house in Wisconsin.
How about:
That's why the average punter doesn't travel across state lines to put themselves in the middle of it while carrying a rifle he got in Wisconsin, and masquerading as a medic. If he was walking down to the shops I might buy into his defence.
He didnt cross state lines while carrying a rifle, I know that, you know that but you're still pretending you don't. It doesnt make a blind bit of a difference if he crossed a state line, a county line or a township line while riding a unicycle once he wasnt carrying that rifle
It's very odd to persist with that crack I must say.
Where to even start with this whole thing? A nation polarised by manufactured tensions, armed to the teeth with a media only interested in fueling the fire for profit and a kid with a gun shooting rioters.
That's why the average punter doesn't travel across state lines to put themselves in the middle of it while carrying a rifle and masquerading as a medic. If he was walking down to the shops I might buy into his defence.
Victims on trial still
😎
I was busy at the weekend. Only catching up on the thread this morning.
But my point stands........at least you are now accepting that Rosenbaum attacked Rittenhouse. That's progress.
