Might be worth waiting for singles day as its only 4 days away. I got messages by both PWOD and Oye on AliExpress - identical message so that confirms my suspicion that they are the same company - saying that they are going to have big discounts.
Just wondering how much a 2.6kWh GivEnergy battery would be worth? ballpark. Thanks
Surely at least €1k, although I assume it only works with a Givenergy inverter ?
No idea.
That's the other question I am trying to figure out, will the GIVenergy inverter work with any battery or does it have to be their own
To update, yes it can but it recommends their own
6, If the inverter connects to the lithium battery, must connect the BMS to the BMS -RS485 communication port (we recommend using the GivEnergy appointed lithium battery, because the battery BMS communication meet the GivEnergy inverter. )
So look and see what BMS's / Battery packs they support. If they support Pylontech, then you can go the DIY route with a Seplos BMS.
Looking at OYE store, they have two options as follows:
Eur 1444 Eur 1393
SE200AH capacity:(195-202AH) SE200AH capacity:(180AH-190AH)
Rated capacity:200Ah(100% brand new ) Rated capacity:200Ah(100% brand new )
Minimum capacity:(195-202AH) Minimum capacity:(180AH-190AH)
Is it just slightly cheaper for a battery that didnt reach spec, any risk it would degrade quicker, then again it's only 50eur

I have a Solis RHI-3K-48ES hybrid inverter, which has an RJ-45 Canbus connector, is there a recommended / preferred BMS ?
Asked them, not a great response saying they only support their own batteries, need to search around web to see if anyone has connected to GIVenergy system
OK update on GIVenergy, they have confirmed the inverter will connect to other batteries.
I want to ask do they support Seplos, just wondering is this the BMS people are using? https://www.seplos.com/sale-13707067-can-bus-rs485-48v-200a-500ah-8s-16s-lithium-iron-phosphate-lifepo4-bms-monitoring-system-battery-man.html
I ma looking to buy at least 2 Seplos unit in near future. Just wondering if there are others looking to do the same? We could make single order and save some $
Also would be nice to hear some info from the ones that got it running.
If it is supported I will buy as well, which unit are you looking at? Tjanks
I would be interested in purchasing a Seplos unit if others are happy with it.
I am still researching but leaning toward 100-150A with LCD. My Solis can only push out 60A but I want to have some breathing space.
But what other batteries do they support?
I think seplos does pylontech and SMA (LG, BYD) the pylontech protocol is only slightly different to the SMA one.
I think someone did a group buy on the Seplos before, @championc maybe?
No details yet, they have said other batteries will work, but I don't think they will provide support
Has anyone performed a successful pairing with Seplos and a Solis hybrid? Might be interested assuming it works ok
Not sure, but I'm pretty sure it does use the right protocol.
So in theory at this stage 😅
Same here, I would be interested, have Solis hybrid, looking at batter purchase 11/11.
Finally have starting logging data from my bms.
I have a CT on the feed to the ME3000. I can measure the power to and from the inverter.
The BMS is measuring the current to and from the battery using a shunt. I also have the pack voltage. with that i can calculate the power.
On discharge there is about a 7-8% loss. Will have some info on charging losses in the morning.
Sorry I’ll ask I made a note somewhere but for the life of me I can’t find it.
For the Solis Hybrid 5kW what BMS @DrPhilG did you get? Was it REC? Also what connection to inverter CAN? and did you setup as Pylontech? Custom?
I got the ZEVA BMS, no longer available unfortunately. Unless they still have some stock floating around.
It uses the same protocol as Pylontech and LG so was near enough plug and play. The inverter showed an error when set to Pylontech though but I switched it to LG-Chem and it worked fine.
Ah yes that makes sense thank you.
Looking at a 10%-ish loss on charge. which does tally with what im getting on my recorded charge/discharge readings
Is that going by what the inverter is reading? I'm currently charging at 1.3kw/h overnight which over 8 hours would be 10.4kWh. But the inverter is showing daily charge of around 9.4kWh
Going on what is measured by my emontx at the consumer unit.
Charging losses of around 10%? Sounds about right?
This looks ok to me. Over 2 years, my charge/discharge loss is ~8% according to inverter.
Got reply from Seplos and they said:
'We can provide different specifications of BMS to fit all kinds of NCM/Lifepo4 lithium battery packs and compatible with many inverter brands and protocols on the market like Goodwe 、Growatt 、Victron 、Voltronic 、LUXPOWET 、Sofar 、DEYE 、Sermatec 、RENAC 、TBBPOWER 、SOLIS 、SMA、FoxESS. As far as compatibility with Pylontech Protocol is concerned, our product is fully supported. Here also attached the specification for your reference'
I am attaching file provided.
I will be buying 2. Please let me know how many takers there will be so I can get a quote.
Maybe I should create a separate thread for this group buy.
