I agree. I also didn't start it mate. There's no need for personal attacks, and I think this particular thread is probably the best on the Web that I've seen. Theres always been differing opinions but no trolling or drama, just good discussions.
I acknowledge that you have brought a lot of personal time and research to this thread Scooby, but we have to be big boys here. Bringing in the Mods will only end with the thread locked.
Did you actually read what he/she said to me?? It was personal, incorrect vitriol. That I'm a lonely female that has the hots basically for IB.
Sorry, but that is trolling. It's unacceptable.
Why is it a problem for you that the Gardaí would know about this? If it`s common knowledge locally (it clearly isn`t and jack842 isn`t the first local that as come on here and said they have never heard of it) then the Gardaí already know all about it. Oh right....the big cover-up.
Why's it obvious? There's been a few on this thread previously. It's widely known that the gardai have people monitoring forums and social media.
I'm not a guard obviously, forget about any names then. Tell us what exactly his confession was? What did he say he did?
And for another, his name might be common knowlege, but the people involved aren't.
I wouldn't share that anywhere, especially after the supposed revelations that people have harrased them. If that's who is referred to of course.
Because for one thing you could be a cop.
Ok your choice, if its common knowlege as you claim then I don't really see what's the problem
Yes and some of them have shared info that wasn't in the public domain before.
No thank you
@scoobysna, On second thoughts prob not a good idea putting any names on a public forum, send them to me privately if you want.
The only person who has given journalists the file is Bailey.
I'm from the area and while I didn't know the Guard myself i've mentioned it to people who did know him and had dealings with him and they have never heard about this "death bed confession". So it's not common local knowledge. Why don't you give us the names of the people he supposedly told and what he said exactly and maybe the story could be verified.
@tibruit is not a troll. I don't agree with his perspective on the case but he has as much right to make his point here as anyone else. It doesn't benefit anyone posting in an echo chamber.
There was an idiot posting here a few weeks ago calling people 'Bailey Fanboys'. He was rightly put in his place.
Id say his/her sources are Johnny Moriarty in West Cork after a rake of pints of Guinness & a Snackbox on a Saturday night outside the local chipper.😂
You can tell us SoulWriter,
we won't tell anyone -honest.
I have my sources too but do not need the world to know what i know
I haven't boasted about anything. I was rightly pissed off with a rude troll last night.
I have actually said, several pages back, that I know someone with the files and they tell me the odd thing if I ask. I've shared virtually nothing that isn't already in the public domain and no one has broken the law. You must realise that certain people, investigative journalists etc were given the files, no?
As for the deathbed confession, it's common local knowledge. There is weight to it, but I've never expanded on it here. Also, it's unlikely to ever be proven unless relevant people talk or Drew Harris unmasks the corruption and cover up that went on.
you're all talk of sources you cannot name. If a cop, or anyone involved is giving you information he is breaking the law. maybe not boast so much about it online if it were true. you never know who might read it
I have sources too i cannot post what they say because if I did the source may be found out
Thankyou. I know a couple of us reacted but there was no need for what tibruit started.
Mod: a bunch of posts deleted, originating at a needlessly personal, hostile post.
Consider this a reminder to keep it civil. It ain't hard. Discuss the case, stop biting at each other.
No.
So today we have had quite a bit of derision aimed at Foster by yourself and the vacuous Fianna. What is it that`s bothering ye I wonder?
Are you seriously supporting the muppet who wrote this:
"Sophie called out "Monsieur, Monsieur!" after the man. This is not a way a French person would address a prowler or indeed a 'hitman'. It rather suggests Sophie knew her attacker. She was angry with the man for taking the bottle. He then struck her with it."
Some of us curious sorts would still like an explanation about this mystery of the missing wine bottle... not that we're likely to get it.
If the bottle of wine had anything to do with the crime at all the murderer would have wiped the bottle clean of fingerprints with ease.
Exactly my opinion. I find it funny that there are still users who believe otherwise and are going on discussing that bottle of wine.
In order for the bottle of wine to be of relevance, it would have to be linked to the murder with evidence which holds up in court. That would mean, the bottle was used as a weapon to deliver one of the blows to Sophie and have the fingerprints or other DNA of the murderer on it. On top of that the bottle of wine was found on the side of the road anybody could have passed on, irrespective if he or she visited Sophie's house any time before, on the day or after the murder.
Even if we can establish that Bailey actually bought that particular bottle of wine it would never prove that he was actually the killer.
Who says he was at Kealfada bridge?
Ah ya ...the old bottle of wine ..... found by who?
Looks to me it was found very close to if not on her own land (seperate parcel) in dunmanus a couple of Km's away from her holiday home ...
Exceptional views... Wonder who farms it now...?
every time i read this thread it reminds me of the saying....think horses not zebras
You'd think he'd have thrown it into the sea while he was down at Kealfadda bridge doing his washing...
The bottle of wine is irrelevant in a criminal investigation.
For one thing, it's gone.
For another, no DNA or fingerprints were taken from it.
If it was a herring it would be red.
It's only useful to people who want to play the game of speculation, but be aware that you can't win that game because nothing will ever be proven with regard to the bottle of wine.
