HEO and Administrative Officer are of equivalent rank (but with differences between them), and are immediately above EO. However, there are open competitions for Assistant Principal and Principal Officer so, in theory, you can apply for them.
There are also interdepartmental and internal promotion competitions. Interdepartmental competitions are open for all serving civil servants with a minimum of two years' total service, but you could go to any Department. Internal competitions are restricted to people working in the relevant Department.
Re: annual leave: yes, HEOs (and AOs) get more annual leave than EOs. https://hr.per.gov.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Circular-06-of-2011-Annual-Leave-and-Privilege-Days.pdf
Some of the questions were tough enough and very specific but the interview board were lovely and so friendly. My connection went 5 mins in to it and they were lovely about it. Thankfully it didn’t throw me off.
Its hard to know how it went. I had an internal interview at the start of the year and thought I did great, but it wasn’t to be so have no clue how to judge today’s effort.
Can I ask, were you in batch 3.1 for Dublin?
yes really hard to know how it went. Hopefully we will get good news 🤞🏻
I'm not feeling hopeful after interview, (not for Dublin) interviewers were so nice, i had prepared so well but couldn't think 😕
I feel I over prepared, they explain clearly which competency they are asking and dont stray from competencies maybe few questions on education & work experience.
Hope results come fast to get it over with and move on. Good luck to everyone.
I’m not sure what batch I’m in. It didn’t give a batch number in my messages just my OOM for both panels.
judging by others on here I wasn’t called in the first group for interview. So I’m in batch 3 just not sure which group from that.
Higher scales are awarded based on service
You need to be in 2 years to apply for internal promotion. Heos get more holidays but they get more of the crap
Thank you. I’m sure you did amazing. Best of luck 🤞🤞
Unless you get the plum training roles
I have been offered an EO post in the DSP but waiting to hear what it is. I currently work within a government department but am classed as an industrial public servant rather than a civil servant. The salary scale I am on is the same as the CO scale (except I am paid weekly) and I have reached a point above the EO minimum. Does anyone know if I have a chance of retaining my salary on some sort of mark time arrangement?
All Co roles are weekly.
You start on point 1 but apply for your service and salary to be recognised
Just a reminder for people. Eos are paid over a 14 day pay period. Friday to Thursday. If you start on a Monday the first 3 days of the pay period are lost.
I sent an email to PAS asking for info and was told that they have called up to OOM 1491 open and OOM 539 inter to e-tray for Dublin so far. At least that will give anyone who's waiting some idea of whether they might be in the next batch.
Please could you clarify this? Thursday to Friday over a 2 week period surely includes Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday?
Pay period is Friday to the Thursday over a 2 week period.
Get paid today 11.11
Next period runs from 12.11 to 25.11
If you start next Monday(15.11) you miss 3 days of the pay period.
I’m lost, how could you loose 3 days pay?
If as you say the next pay period is starting 12.11 for 2 weeks, Monday 15.11 and the following 2 days are included in that pay period and you should get paid on the next pay date, in this example 25.11?
It's a 14 day pay cycle even though you only work 10 if those days Monday to Friday.
I know, it doesn't make sense but that's how it is.
That's my understanding, yes.
How long after interview do you get your result?
So weird doing an interview for a job I dont know what it will be?!!
Anyone get into Revenue from this competition?
Got an email from public jobs about a message in my message board. Thought it was interview results but it was just a notice about a job under my preferences 🙄
First time I’ve ever got a message like that in my message board. Talk about bad timing 🤦🏼♀️ Heart was in my mouth!
I think what the posters trying to say is that if you start in the middle of a two week cycle you will be paid from your start day.
So if the pay period starts on Thursday and you start the following Monday, you will be paid from the date you start but won't receive a full two weeks wages as you hadn't started at the start of the pay period.
Thought I said that😂.
People think by starting on Monday and working 10 days in 2 weeks they'll get full pay, then they think they've been short changed
Ah 👍 Yes, that makes sense. Obviously you’ll only get paid from your start date!
Anyone know if DSP AMD are back in the office full time or still working from home?
If you pass interview are you re-ranked or do you keep placing from e-tray test?
You are given a new OOM if you pass the interview stage.
Hi all, I've just sent in my vetting forms for the CO Campaign (so hopefully will have a role soon eough) and am also at 18X in the EO Dublin campaign but have yet to have an interview scheduled.
Am I right in thinking that if I take the CO offer I won't be able to accept any EO roles I'm potentially offered until 2 years are up?
Both are open campaign so i don't see why not? Maybe i'm wrong though.
You can take up the EO position if you're offered it down the line regardless of your time as a CO. As @jaffa20 mentioned they're 2 Open & separate competitions. Best of luck 😊
