Sorry I’ll ask I made a note somewhere but for the life of me I can’t find it.
For the Solis Hybrid 5kW what BMS @DrPhilG did you get? Was it REC? Also what connection to inverter CAN? and did you setup as Pylontech? Custom?
Finally have starting logging data from my bms.
I have a CT on the feed to the ME3000. I can measure the power to and from the inverter.
The BMS is measuring the current to and from the battery using a shunt. I also have the pack voltage. with that i can calculate the power.
On discharge there is about a 7-8% loss. Will have some info on charging losses in the morning.
Same here, I would be interested, have Solis hybrid, looking at batter purchase 11/11.
Ruairi
So in theory at this stage 😅
Not sure, but I'm pretty sure it does use the right protocol.
Has anyone performed a successful pairing with Seplos and a Solis hybrid? Might be interested assuming it works ok
No details yet, they have said other batteries will work, but I don't think they will provide support
I think someone did a group buy on the Seplos before, @championc maybe?
But what other batteries do they support?
I think seplos does pylontech and SMA (LG, BYD) the pylontech protocol is only slightly different to the SMA one.
I am still researching but leaning toward 100-150A with LCD. My Solis can only push out 60A but I want to have some breathing space.
I would be interested in purchasing a Seplos unit if others are happy with it.
If it is supported I will buy as well, which unit are you looking at? Tjanks
I ma looking to buy at least 2 Seplos unit in near future. Just wondering if there are others looking to do the same? We could make single order and save some $
Also would be nice to hear some info from the ones that got it running.
OK update on GIVenergy, they have confirmed the inverter will connect to other batteries.
I want to ask do they support Seplos, just wondering is this the BMS people are using? https://www.seplos.com/sale-13707067-can-bus-rs485-48v-200a-500ah-8s-16s-lithium-iron-phosphate-lifepo4-bms-monitoring-system-battery-man.html
Asked them, not a great response saying they only support their own batteries, need to search around web to see if anyone has connected to GIVenergy system
I have a Solis RHI-3K-48ES hybrid inverter, which has an RJ-45 Canbus connector, is there a recommended / preferred BMS ?
Looking at OYE store, they have two options as follows:
Eur 1444 Eur 1393
SE200AH capacity:(195-202AH) SE200AH capacity:(180AH-190AH)
Rated capacity:200Ah(100% brand new ) Rated capacity:200Ah(100% brand new )
Minimum capacity:(195-202AH) Minimum capacity:(180AH-190AH)
Is it just slightly cheaper for a battery that didnt reach spec, any risk it would degrade quicker, then again it's only 50eur
So look and see what BMS's / Battery packs they support. If they support Pylontech, then you can go the DIY route with a Seplos BMS.
No idea.
That's the other question I am trying to figure out, will the GIVenergy inverter work with any battery or does it have to be their own
To update, yes it can but it recommends their own
6, If the inverter connects to the lithium battery, must connect the BMS to the BMS -RS485 communication port (we recommend using the GivEnergy appointed lithium battery, because the battery BMS communication meet the GivEnergy inverter. )
Surely at least €1k, although I assume it only works with a Givenergy inverter ?
Just wondering how much a 2.6kWh GivEnergy battery would be worth? ballpark. Thanks
Might be worth waiting for singles day as its only 4 days away. I got messages by both PWOD and Oye on AliExpress - identical message so that confirms my suspicion that they are the same company - saying that they are going to have big discounts.
Yes, that's about as low as it gets these days
Going to buy the following: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001083766967.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.518a6919Su3gHo&algo_pvid=06140001-61ba-4f9f-8db1-2d71f1c8b704&algo_exp_id=06140001-61ba-4f9f-8db1-2d71f1c8b704-0&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22sku_id%22%3A%2212000025806930327%22%7D
Decent value?
I will have one. I have had a couple of other expressions of interest. I've just been too busy to get the DIY finished.
Can't remember if somebody here said they were selling their pylontech batteries now that they have DIY one built. Currently I'm on 7.2kwh but interested in adding one or two more.
Stock coming back in on the 18th of this month so will add one then but if anyone here is selling theirs before that drop me a pm
With this shopping list in mind, is there a source for storage inverters I have missed? I was hoping that a storage inverter wouldn't be too much but am only seeing full hybrid inverters on the wholesalers in Ireland, midsummer, solartricity etc. It would almost be better to take out the standard inverter I have and get a hybrid inverter installed, and sell the standard if anyone would buy it!
Keep searching AliExpress for "CALB 200AH 16pcs". That will find all sellers. The better recommended ones are PWOD and OYE.
This is a couple of quid cheaper, and seems to have the same spec (200A, 3.2V, 16 pieces)

You can build separate parallel packs with their own bms
Or you can parallel pairs of cells in a string of 16 with one bms.
