Same road, wrong direction.
It could be done, but wouldn't make sense;
I thought it was closer to Sophie's house. I'd say pretty much anybody could have driven down that road, and lost this bottle of wine.
I think what is being inferred by Foster saying he 'tramped the hills' to investigate the claim is that the bottle was found between Sophie and Bailey's house as the crow flies. Cross country it is on route. Perhaps there is some pathway or track that way.
Was it found on the road between Sophie & Baileys house? I hope posters have been sources than Foster for this. If it was, it wouldnt aline whatsoever with the sighting of the fiesta going in the opposite direction.
There's a map attached by @chooseusername 4 posts up.
I don't know on what road or in what direction the fiesta was going other than it was heading towards Bantry.
It's on the road to bantry, so it would align with the fiesta going in that direction yes
It was the road that M O'Sullivan was driving down when he was dangerously overtaken on the bend (I think the bend is a bit further on tho)
Scooby, if I knew what road O'Sullivan was on I'd know what road the fiesta was on!
Sorry choosy 😅 I'll try and do a map later
Right. O Sullivan was driving from Goleen to Durrus. About 2 miles after the junction, which he would have taken because it’s the quickest route, he was overtaken. I did this map a while ago and think the suggested arrows (blue)could be a bit early, perhaps you could estimate 2 miles? The red arrow, would be the route a driver would take from Sophie’s if they were going back to say Bantry, and it meets the rd O Sullivan took. Hope that makes sense!
That is approx 2 miles to that bend tho.
Sorry, I correct myself. The bottle was found in the road that a driver would go down but meet the Rd ó Sullivan was overtaken on, the map is on a previous page.
So, O'Sullivan's route; R591 yellow, would not have taken him past the bottle, which was on the L8413 red (Kealfada road)?
Yes, I corrected myself. But added that if a car was going from Sophies to Bantry for example, then it would meet the R591 where O Sullivan was overtaken. Ya get me?
This look about right? The orange line is 2 miles from the junction.
I see the deluded peado friendly Foster is looking for a face to face meeting with Bailey.
Anything to generate interest for his fantasy novel.
There are some mighty strange people around today.. I was watching a documentary on The Donald's Insurrection, they were interviewing some of the more extreme Trump followers.... Christ, they are batshit crazy... Absolutely bonkers!
And then when I read some of the comments on Ian Bailey's Twitter account.... I think, Christ, we have them here too... Totally deluded, none thinking, raving lunatics...
Nick Foster isn't a lunatic though... He is cunning and calculating, he knows exactly how to stir the pot. But his spouting blatant lies will tarnish the weaker minds of this country... Foster said this, Foster said that, so it must be true... (No need for me to think for myself) Hang Bailey, Hang Him, Hang him I say!! Shur didn't the French already do our job for us....
Anyway, the good Ian has sent legal papers to the Belgium Courts accusing Foster of inciting hate.
We live in a society were we can publish anything about anyone and not face the consequences. Love him or hate him, Bailey has endured over 25yrs of the media insinuating that he brutally murdered a young Mother in West Cork..
The French President was allowed to speak on national television about the need for justice, and even offered Bailey a fresh trial in France, (after already convicting him to a quarter of a century imprisonment)... Anyone who hadn't heard of Bailey before then.. Had now.
Sophie's Son was given air time on national TV to condemn Bailey. He read from the alter in West Cork, telling the natives to turn the murderer in, you all know who he is..
Can anybody really imagine an innocent person being subjected to such public scrutiny ??
Bailey was granted an interview by Virgin to respond to the one sided lashing he was taking.
Embarrassingly, and with utter shame, I watched a complete hatchet job taking place on a citizen of Ireland. He was treated like a convicted murderer who had slipped the clutches of Irish law. It was an absolute disgrace to Irish journalism.
It was advertised as an impartial interview, a chance for the accused to respond to the national & international media storm building around him. Instead, we were served up anything but impartiality, it was a full on attack, to ridicule and belittle Ian Bailey further in the public eye.
The Country should bow it's head in shame. For over 25yrs, the Country has damned one of it's own citizens to a life of exile among the community. It never once publicly stated that Ian Bailey is innocent of all charges, never once attempted to look at anybody else, not once attempted to have an internal investigation to see what type of **** show went on at all...
Drew Harris won't find the murderer.. I never expected him to. But what he can do, is expose the bent coppers that blew the case from day one. Report back that the investigation was rotten to the core, the leading detectives were entirely at fault, were negligent in there duty, and border line criminal in how they treated Bailey.
If he's not going to expose the investigation, then there's not much point in opening up the case again.
I await in anticipation...
This thread seems to have degenerated into a Bailey love-in involving one or two Elaine Figgis types. Anyway, as I have neither the time nor inclination to do Twitter, I`m just wondering what these "blatant lies" that Foster has been spouting are? Serious question.
Nailed it. Totally 👌
So, "The fiesta speeding from the scene" may have been nowhere near the actual scene.
It could have come up the R591 from Toormore ,
or along the L4403 and not have been on the Kealfada road at all?
Yes, potentially.
O` Sullivan wasn`t even certain it was a Fiesta.
It's this kind of shite that the trolls on twitter resort to because they are incapable of proper debate.
Yeah, anyone that sees the **** show of the investigation for what it is and dares to suggest IB was stitched up must be dying to ride him. I shouldn't even be answering this idiocy.
I`m totally capable of proper debate. Not so long ago I remember you wishing Bailey "all the happiness in the world". Gimme a break.
So? Why the **** shouldn't he be happy after 25 years of this ****? I don't think you realise that most of us who think he's innocent aren't under any illusions that he's an angel or hasn't done bad things, but it's been a witch hunt. A witch hunt with no evidence except that of garda corruption.
Also, most of us who have come to that conclusion have spent years in this case, not just watched the netflix and read Michael sheridans books. Some of us have even read the garda files where it's even more obvious what happened.
Crawl back under your bridge will ya
Was Sophie's hire car tested for forensics (DNA?) Passenger would have left traces (hair, skin etc) . Those cars are usually cleaned after each hire so evidence most probably from the last hire.
"A witch hunt with no evidence"....yep.....classic Elaine Figgis.
It was fingerprinted. Guess what.. No sign of IB. the seat was also not "pushed all the way back" and the petrol was examined and all of it accounted for which is why the gardai discounted Sean Murrays statement.
You really have nothing else do you?
Pathetic.
