A 225 is over tipp https://www.flightradar24.com/ADB383F/29acf01d
Feck, I missed it flying over over South Dublin, did anyone hear it?
Looking at its track, it could hardly have been closer to flying directly over my house.
Saw it take off from Shannon shortly after 9am and do a circle over county Limerick heading towards Dublin. Some machine. A sight to behold. Wonder if it returns to Almaty/China with a cargo or empty. Has been in Shannon since Wednesday afternoon. It's returning again in the near future i believe.
That is not something I have seen too often. Just flew over the house.
It left empty, it will be back again on Tuesday fully loaded with more decorations.
Saw it earlier myself over Blackrock - was odd alright to see
Shannon rescue helicopter just flew over my house in Kerry .... proper storm here atm.. bunch of badasses
Heard a propeller aircraft flying around Castlebar today although when I looked it wasn't on flight radar, although I didn't get a chance to get outside to see if I could see it sounded like it was flying fast and made a number of passes over the town so I'm guessing it was the air corps, would they often fly around without their transponders on?
Not as a rule but an aircraft that is very low may not be picked up by ADS-B receivers at any distance.
This passed overhead half an hour ago, flew from a military base just outside Rome so presumably part of the G20 entourage.
AN124 UR-82007 due into Shannon later this evening meanwhile tomorrow sees the return of the 225 alongside a BA A380 which is in for training.
That was Abbeyshrule based EI-BUF which was in the hold over Castlebar while a Ryanair was landing on to runway 26 at knock. EI-BUF is a Cessna 210 with plenty of power and noise :)
The good old Cessna 210 centurion now I know why there is an airport in Switzerland that has banded from taking off all landing without prior authorisation.
Thanks for letting me know what it was.
Any ETA on the 225 tomorrow ?
Arriving at lunch time
The a380 will be around for a few hours doing circuits.
UA957 Geneva to New York currently holding over Longford/Cavan, not sure of the problem.
He's circling over our house here in Cavan every 20 mins or so. Whats best ATC to catch him on, EIDW Approach?
Seems to be heading for Dublin now. They turned around before entering oceanic airspace so could be a problem with navigation, HF radios etc. and presumably entered the hold to try to resolve the problem.
Reception not great, I think he said a fuel gauge problem, they've done manual calculations and are now happy they're underweight for landing in DUB.
Right over me

Ryanair FR1344 enroute from Shannon to Lanzarote performed a rapid decent from a cruise altitude of FL350 to FL80 over the Celtic Sea. It returned to Shannon in the last 20 mins.
Looked to be a medical emergency, ambulance was waiting on stand when it arrived.
Medical wouldn't explain the rapid turn and decent though? It flew back most of the way at 8000ft. Could there have been a cabin pressure issue and medical be a consequence of that?
Overheard the crew on SNN ACE this morning on the ATC Radar. It was a medical emergency with a sick pax on board so requested to turn back to Shannon at 8000ft to burn off fuel. They were expected to land heavy on 24. But burned off enough fuel on the way back to avoid that.
EI EFJ is en route back to ACE now as FR431
Ah, that makes very good sense! Thanks for that.
According to flightradar they were, impressively, only 2 1/2 hours late getting to Lanzarote.
Something unusual going on with an American government plane holding over Shannon at 34,000ft.
Showing as well into a crossing of the Atlantic now, so guessing they were holding to get their crossing clearance, or they were ahead of their approved time, so had to hang around for a bit. Another possibility is a tech issue that they were able to resolve, but they couldn't enter the trans atlantic space without resolving it.
They were due into Shannon, cancelled that flight in the last few days. Someone obviously didn't tell the pilot.
