"We need to stop advising women how to stop this and start telling the perpetrators"
Ugh....this again. Let's just tell burglars to stop robbing people instead of advising people to lock their doors. Let's not advise people on how to avoid being scammed and just tell scammers to stop scamming. That'll work! Why are idiots like Byrne so against giving people advice on how to be safe? Advising someone to be safer doesn't mean they're to blame if something bad happens them.
Yep, that happens. Still not asking to be raped though
Lottie Ryan out of the woodwork today saying she was spiked too, it's fashionable this week, that's for sure...
https://www.rte.ie/entertainment/2021/1108/1258585-lottie-ryan-speaks-about-drink-spiking-incident/
Because its ALWAYS women who are being told to look out for their safety.
What do you want, ads in the telly on how women should protect themselves? The assault perpetrators would still be walking the streets.
Maybe there should be ads in the telly telling perpetrators and abusive people to get their head out of their a$$ and into therapy instead.
The real story here is the blackguards trying to take advantage.
Victim blaming is not a good look.
We now have Fiona Looney (playwright and broadcaster) talking about Roy Keane as a pundit 🤷♂️
And which method do you think is more effective? Telling a rapist not to rape or telling a woman not to leave drinks out of her sight etc.
And now pigs being flown to China, you really don't know what the show will be covering, lol.
...and the expert is the farmer who owned Babe the pig, sure why not
God help the women in your life...
Women shouldn't have to not leave their drinks out of their sight.
Men, go to therapy.
Claire Byrne and Fiona Looney, giving a psychological evaluation on Roy Keane and people from Cork...
Claire Byrne does nothing for her journalistic "integrity" at all, does she?
He plays Greg's father in Succession, Greg is great.
She should have asked him was he any relation to Oliver Cromwell known around these parts.
That segment was a bit stupid, like you couldnt even hear what the guy was saying to Keane. Saw it on Twitter earlier today and it was much ado about nothing, not sure how Byrne felt it newsworthy enough to get Looney into the studio for it
Of course but the sad reality is there are predators out their always looking for an opportunity to abuse.
Facts are men and women need to keep an eye out for each other when out in case a scum bag chances something.
I am **** sick to my back teeth of RTE using the staff as fillers, today Pablo Ryans daughter Lotto was on Jennifers Zapp **** show descussing her and her sisters drug spiking incedent from years ago
Claire Byrne has Bob and Renne of Fair City "fame" on talking about EV cars, these two where also on this year getting the jab
Sure why not when you have an open cheque book like RTE,
Totally agree.
That other poster is alluding to the fact that it's womens sole responsibility to not get assaulted. Its ridiculous.
I'm aware he's probably trolling, but somebody, or a lot of people, could be reading this who genuinely think that way. And to them I say....
GO TO THERAPY. YOUR ATTACHMENT ISSUES ARE NOT WOMENS FAULT.
yeah its ridiculous and dont forget Looney and the Fair City couple are getting paid to be there on the show. Handy number getting paid to drive a free EV around all weekend and then talk about it for 5 minutes for a wedge of cash
People who rape prefer it to therapy?
About as ridiculous as being able to appear on the national airwaves and blame some 'man', so therefore all males, on something that all common sense and available evidence including their own would point to the fact that it was all their own doing. And worse, that there was no challenge whatsoever of their recollections, so much for balanced broadcasting
Additionally each one of these places is covered head to toe in CCTV covering every single area their customers are. Some of these 'victims' should perhaps ask can they review their antics of an evening to refresh their actual intake of drink v's their version. Crimecall would have a regular slot for seeking drinks spikers if if was common.
Didn't see the show, but on the spiking debate it would have been good to have a medical expert on to tell us about all the confirmed case's recently of drugs being found in victims blood samples.
What the drugs were, and how they were administered.
I'm a man and don't think they were blaming "all males". It's a weird place for your mind to go. I don't know why you (and others here) feel so attacked by these women sharing their stories, or why the automatic reflex is that they are making it up.
No doubt there are people who have used spiking as an excuse for over indulgence, to spare their blushes. That's still no reason to automatically dismiss these girls, or to claim that spiking never happens/isn't an issue.
Great to see your man in the audience behind the EV cars Nobby fella is also helping to save the earth by not wearing any socks. Also Claire not wearing any socks tonight. Fair play to both of them.
I can’t figure out exactly what that Roy Keane argument was about. But I also dunno why it is being discussed on this show. Possibly the silliest segment in this program’s history, and that’s saying a lot considering it’s output since Corona arrived.
The least we can do for the Chinese is give them a few pigs either dead or alive. Most of us in Ireland eat at least 1 Chinese dinner once a week. The Chinese are a great bunch of lads and they deserve a fine Irish sausage or ham sandwich.
So glad I'm avoiding Claire Byrne in the last number of weeks. Boards keeps me updated on her crazy.
Next week she can cover single men who were seduced by 'marriage material' women in Las Vegas but it turned out they were robbed of every single cent they had in their hotel room by these same ladies. They can investigate if wearing Davidoff Cool Water works better than Paco Rabanne 1 million to repel them.
