In the same boat playing the waiting game, my OOM is 62 so I’m wondering how long it will be.
Hi folks, this is probably a really silly question but I’m currently a CO at point 3 on scale. I assume I’ll start at point 1 on EO scale?
Thanks a mil 😁
Any regional called to interview recently? Expression of interest received on 22/10
I am in clearance now just waiting for paperwork to be sent. I was in the low 50s for batch 3.1. Got the email about a position on 4/10/21
I was in the low 2X's OOM for batch 3.1 of the Dublin Open. Got my placement a couple of days ago. Will be starting in a couple of weeks. You should be hearing very soon!
Congratulations on your placement,
can I ask what department you were allocated to?
Hi all. I posted last week that I received notification that I was going to be starting the DSP in Longford, and that someone would be in touch with further details.
well I received an email on Monday from someone in the DSP advising that they were experiencing a high level of recruitment within DSP and someone would be in touch within coming weeks with specific’s.
I know they are busy as every other person has advised they are starting with DSP but I am wondering if anyone else experienced this and if so how long exactly did it take to get the full details and start date?
Many thanks
If it's going to be a few weeks, it could well be January before you start. I think because payroll gets done weeks in advance for Xmas.
To be honest this close to Christmas, a January start date would be ideal, but I’d love to know, so that I can start working my notice etc.
Thanks for information/advice, really appreciate it.
Anyone have an upto date number for oom in stage 1 for wexford?
I'm in Batch 2...just wondering how many they are calling for interview from each batch.
Hi Folks, Any update on the Kerry panel?
Not sure, but there are openings in the Garda in New Ross,Town and enniscorthy, none filled yet according to a friend working in town
In the same boat as you, I got notification of my assignment to a department yesterday & im hoping to start in January although things are moving quite fast so I don’t know if I’ll be able to stretch it out till then
*Edited - Oops, wrong thread
Hi all,
Does anyone happen to know the OOM called for interview in Limerick or Cork?
Thanks!
40 for Cork when I asked last month
Did Interview for Limerick start of August was 10-15 after e-tray. Still waiting to be called for next stage clearance etc. Passed interview if that helps
How long were you waiting from putting in your docs to receiving assignment can I ask? I’m waiting to hear back and would love a January start as well 🤣
I see on the Public Service salary scales, there is:
Executive Officer starting €31,384
Executive Officer Higher Scale starting €34,189
If successful with this competition is it possible to start on the EOHS €34,189 or do you have to get an internal promotion from EO to get onto that salary scale?
Westmeath interviews are this week
Hiya,
So it was approximately two weeks between submitting my clearance documents and receiving notification. I received an email this morning saying that they were experiencing a high volume of candidates at the moment & that someone would be in touch in coming weeks however I got an unexpected call this afternoon with details!
I’ve been assigned to DSP, good location & start date of Jan 4th so I’m absolutely delighted overall.
Hopefully you’ll hear very soon.
You'll start on the standard scale, i.e. €31,384.
At EO grade, about 10% of staff are on the Higher Scale and you must be an existing civil servant to apply for it. Each Department (after consulting with Unions) can choose when and how to lift staff onto the Higher Scale (usually either based on length of service at the grade in the Department, or by a competition, or both), and the number of people benefitting depends on how far away the Department is from the 10% figure.
Aw that’s fantastic news, congratulations 🎉 I submitted everything about a week ago now I think so hopefully will hear soon! I was told where I’ve been provisionally assigned to so delighted about that, it’s DRCD which is a smaller dept so hoping they don’t want me in too soon. just waiting on the starting date and definite offer so I can hand in my notice 🤣
They were quite accommodating with start dates so maybe explain to them that you’d like to start in Jan and see what they say.
DRCD should be a nice department to work in congrats to you too. I was a bit nervous when I heard mine was DSP but it’s one of the better sections I’m in as far as I know.
Work can be challenging, but staff are very friendly and vast library of guidance material available to all staff. Lot of promotion prospects too with staff retiring.
Anyone interview recently? Just wondering how long it takes to get results? Have my interview today so back to waiting again now 😅
Thank you, I gave them an email just in case I was forgotten, maybe my county hasn't been called yet.
In terms of career progression for Executive Officer, is Higher Executive Officer the next step up and are you able to go for Higher Exec roles in any department or are you only eligible to go for the role in the department you are in?
Also, do Higher Executive Officers get a higher number of leave days than EO's?
(I'm coming in from Private Sector and some of this information is hard to come by)
How did you find the interview? I had mine yesterday, found it tough
