Looking to buy an artificial Christmas tree, 7 foot max, easy to assemble and pre-lit.
I'm close to the likes of Homebase, Argos, Woodies and Homestore (although they have no trees at the moment).
Any suggestions for this year?
Also, has anyone had any issues with the pre-lit trees?
I'm also looking to get a pre lit tree. Did you manage to find anything in the meantime?
I was looking on Amazon and came across this one...
But the reviews are very mixed so I decided to leave it..
I got my pre-lit tree from Marks and Spencer last year or the year before. Comes in 3 sections (unlike my branch by branch tree from Homestore and More.) It's just about bright enough, my mother got the same one and adds extra lights, tbh I'd be tempted to do that too this year.
Ez Living seem to have a few that might suit

Heard on the radio this morning that there may be a shortage of both real & artificial tree's this year. The milder climate has affected the real tree availability apparently, and the Suez canal fiasco has had an impact on the artificial trees getting here from China.
If you have time...
Half price ones at Tesco right now...
Arnotts have a decent selection of trees- both regular, and pre lit. They look pretty decent in the shop. I think I'd have to see a tree in real life before buying!
Dunnes appear to have a couple of artificial trees in, would say you'll need to order (free delivery) and if you don't like you can return.
Cant imagine they have them in store.

Just saw this one on Amazon, have to say it looks remarkably 'real'... not unreasonable prices too.
Does the free delivery apply to ROI I wonder? My OH does most of the Amazon shopping as Prime is in her name so not to up on my Amazon details.
Will most likely stick with a real one however as you said that one does look very nice and can see the appeal of going fake.
You should get free delivery to ROI with it, even without Prime. Once the value of your basket is over £25, and dispatched from Amazon you get free delivery. The total value needs to be under €150 though, or you will probably get done for import taxes.
Is it as high as €150 before you start paying import taxes, I thought it was much lower however to be honest haven't bought much from the UK since Brexit.
I know, it's a bit of a minefield! Amazon work out and pay the Irish taxes for anything under €150 (items dispatched from Amazon only, be careful with sellers!). If you enter an Irish address, the price will go up slightly compared to what's advertised as the Irish VAT rate is a bit higher. Once it goes over €150, there are import duties on top of the tax, which can add quite a bit to the overall price.
Thanks, good to know.
