Come on Ireland! ☘️
Johnny going full Hougaard
JGP doing what a good scrum half should do.
This is really promising. It's not about opposition quality but the way we are trying to the play the game.
Excuse me for the stupid question as I had heard and can not remember but what is with the purple black jerseys. Look good though
Few great phases from Ringrose there. Huge tackle to disrupt the Japan attack and from our subsequent penalty he picks from the ruck and offloads to JGP for the try.
If we do win by 50, will you have something positive to say?
Green /red clashes no longer allowed.
Ireland out japaning Japan.
I was asking more is it our new away jersey
Its a bit typical.
We hammer this side out the gate in a autumn friendly but when it mattered not long ago at a world cup we underestimated them and left them do a number on us.
We are on course for a good performance against NZ next week, maybe even with a bit of luck on the day and home advantage we get a win, but when it matters if we get out of our group at the WC we know how a QF will go.
You are so tedious, loving this, up tempo exciting rugby and you are still moaning.
I assumed both had white shorts so Ireland had to use change kit
The World Cup is 2 years out. Worry about it then
Conan with a great steal in the line out.
I think winning by 50 against this side is a minimum requirement at this stage.
Japan cant defend, they cant put phases together, they have only one BR that pressures the breakdown, they have no lineout and they are losing every arial battle.
japan are muck.
Wonder will Murray come on at 50 mins and start box kicking?
This goes alongside the England games as our best performance under Farrell our forwards look extremely physical and are winning the collisions. But they're also getting their hands free and offloading for fun. It's giving our backs a bit more tune and space to run into and they're cutting through the defence.
Ireland are doing one very simple thing that they usually never do - hitting moving players with passes off the ruck.
I think thats the problem alright.
Yea because the opposition can be compared alright.
One of the best halves of freewheeling rugby in years, Japan might not offer the greatest resistance but all those offloads were a joy to behold. Encouraging signals ahead of NZ, more please.
These things change. England kept failing at WCs until 2003.
Limerick hurlers were considered bottlers until 2018.
And while we beat teams well in autumn before not with an offloading game like this. We have hardly kicked for touch.
But Ireland are playing very well.
It's time to get over it.
Little word for the ref, been excellent, looks like a great addition to the international panel.
Never saw him before. Is he Georgian?
You need help.....
Japanese discipline is poor lots of skullduggery around the rucks but being totally enabled by Amashukeli. Disgraceful that it took 40 minutes for him to yellow card one of their players... incompetent. My neighbor with his white stick and Labrador would do a better job.
Yes , love his demeanour too, entirely calm.
We havent kicked for touch because we aren't under an ounce of pressure. Every carry is giving forward momentum, nearly every carry is giving fast front foot ruck ball, most carries are allowing offloads. The japanese tackling is poor, they have no line speed.
We havent kicked because we have not needed to kick.
Of course they are playing well.
This is Layton orient versus Liverpool.
