did you contact them to ask
Does fresh coffee really matter for filter? Would you even taste the difference between 1 week and 8 weeks?
Could anyone recommend a coffee that’s strong in latte? The latte I make is closer to flat white in the amount of milk I use but still find most to be a bit lighter than i’d like.
Something stronger allows me to add more milk having more coffee 😊
Not a fan of dark roasts
I've being using "Slumberjack" Italian espresso beans for the last few weeks as a base for flat whites, not bad IMO. Available in Lidl, ground or whole bean.
Using it in my b2c and making an Americano. It's my go to coffee now while shopping
Thanks, but the thread’s for online. There’s no way of knowing how fresh supermarket beans are, it could be months from the time their roasted till the time you get to use them. Is the above a medium roast?
Point taken, just thought you were looking for a decent latte. It's a medium roast if you're interested.
What about the wilfa grinder? I think they are pretty highly rated and not overly expensive
I have one, good for the price in my opinion. My wife makes espresso with a Sage, I grind for drip filters, and it's able to do an acceptable job on both.
I had a Baratza encore previously and the Wilfa does a much better job of actually getting the ground coffee into the removable box, the ergonomics are better I guess, and there's a smart shut off if too much is being ground.
Following on from my suggestion yesterday and considering you're not a fan of "supermarket" coffee, I tried Ponaire's European Blend last year based on some reviews posted earlier in this thread. Basically I was having the same problem as yourself and was looking for something stronger. While not as strong as my original suggestion it might be more suitable for you.
Thanks, i’ll give both a try
Consistently great coffee from WCC I find: On their new Guatamalan Finca El Duranzo at the moment - white honey processed and really sweet:

Spotted a new roaster in Dingle - Two Turtle Doves - roasted to order, so imagine it's very fresh for those who look for that.
Free delivery over €35/3 bags
The 3 bags of single origin for €32 bundle incl delivery looks good if you want to try a few. Really nice branding/design work imo
Also the new Keith Earls (rugby dude) Roastery 11 14 is shipping now: https://www.eleven14.ie/ Good value on the 1kg bags.
(In before the inevitable you can get it for much cheaper in Germany post)
Got a depressing email from Adams & Russel:
"For a sustained period of time the price of green coffee has seen consistent increases; the market being currently at a seven-year global high.
This is coupled with an overall increase in manufacturing costs which are now at a level that we can no longer absorb and so we unfortunately find ourselves in the situation where we need to adjust our prices.
Our COFFEE prices will increase by 20% on all orders placed after the Sunday 25th October 2021. "
Thanks, gave this a try, great flavor and it has good strength in latte/flat white
Have to say I have been very impressed with the Bear Market single origins since they started roasting their own in the new roastery. On this at the moment and it's lovely - beans seem gigantic LOL! Not used to AA size Kenyan beans maybe, and it's been a while since I have had a Kenyan bean too.

Art of Coffee are rebranding to Artessa and have some promotional pricing on their coffees. Prices (at the moment) seem very good, with a KG of washed Yirgacheffe for around €23.20, with free postage on orders over €30, if I'm reading correctly. website. Also promotional pricing on brewing/grinding equipment.
Don't seem to be doing the valrhona chocolate anymore :-(
Thanks for that ordered a few different types all roasted in the last few days looking forward to trying them out.
Wish they didn't use fastway but that's another issue
Ordered on Wednesday, Fastway delivered, no idea where but not to me, last time I order from them while they use Fastway
Ordered Monday, still no sign.
Did you check your tracking number you got from AOC confirmation email?
Just checked there. It says they are trying to deliver my parcel but they are experiencing an operational delay .....whatever that means. Havent AoC always used Fastway? This is thei first time I've had an order delayed with them
My Coffee turned up later on Friday, next door had it, prior to them calling in I had contacted both AOC and Fastway, neither have replied to me as of yet. That's to be expected from Fastway but I would have expected better from AOC.
Took your recommendation on WCC and ordered that Guatemalan Finca El Durazno, Guatemala Asprocdegua and Nicaragua Los Bucaros. All shipped within 2 days and arrived with a roast date within a week.
Tried the Guatemala Asprocdegua so far, very tasty cuppa and everyone I have made a cup for has said the same. Looking forward to trying the other Guatemalan next. Also gave a free sample of Peru to try which was a nice surprise. Good recommendation!
Delighted you found it helpful DrZeuss. Their 1kg subscription is great value for money imo.
I just started their new mexican this morning: https://www.westcorkcoffee.ie/shop/mexico2
Still dialling it in to be honest. It's pretty strong. Never had a mexican before so finding my feet with it :-D
Mexican sounds interesting alright, may stick it on the next order.
I think I'm going to need to stock up on some of their Guatemalan beans before they go out of stock though.
Didn't like Mexican in espresso, pretty basic beans imo .
Just looked at the sub. It's a bit much your paying for a sub up front and them still wanting 4e for shipping, even if it is only a once off.
I think it might just be the way their online shop is set up - i.e. it applies €4 shipping to all orders automatically maybe? I guess they could add 1 euro onto the monthly price and not charge it but personally I think the price point for the sub is very good value so the €4 didn't come into it for me.
