I ran into the same problem but they were super helpful when I contacted them via chat and they shipped my order before my payment could go through and waived shipping costs.
I wouldn't cancel, the wait will be worth it, I love the car, absolutely fantastic to drive, infotainment is great, travel assist, Range of the Tour 5, great car, comfortable, it's worth waiting for.
I ordered last week of April picked up 2nd week of October so I'd say 6 months from car being ordered to collection is a realistic time frame.
So I would say expect it end of December so you should be able to register it as a 221.
The wait is an absolute killer, but you'll be very glad you didn't cancel when you get it.
Which trim did you order again ?

Paid deposit on the 4th of May and the car is made according to the dealer. Its in "Internal Transfer".
I can see a VIN when i log into the VW Portal, but the "line drawing" is presented. According to the folks on meinid.com. that is an indication that the car has started production, but has not been completed. Once its completed the proper picture of the car will reappear. Seemingly there are thousands of cars sitting in a special waiting area at the factory , waiting for Semi Conductors and Multimedia units.
Another boat arrived this morning, i dont expect my car to be on it. Will have to open up discussions on a possible 221 delivery.
Ordered our ID 4 second week of May and I only got the VIN number this morning.
Dealer said December delivery but I won’t be accepting a 212 plate for a New Car not a hope especially as the grant has been extended for delayed orders.
Do you think it’s worth insisting on a 221 in January instead of being given 212 in December?
I'm not sure they can do this if it arrives in December ? if they can't then I wouldn't worry too much still new, was a pain for me registering 2nd week October, December is obviously worse but at least you'd have the car and you won't really care when you drive it.
I asked the same about getting a 212 instead of a 211
I was told that they're required to register every car as soon as it comes into the dealership, they might be able to delay it for a few days or a week but not much longer than that

No idea of production dates, vin number or updated delivery info. The car will arrive when it arrives

It had to happen on a Friday after work FFS, travel assist not available and warnings on the dash.
Its amazing how much I missed having the travel assist!
I take it this means I'm about to get 2.3 ?

I think it was the second part I deleted, being so used to deleting that Internet radio warning. I am careful now not to press "Delete all". The second part which is the bigger part did download again for me about 10 days later.
Did you ask for the update by Email, or is it just automatically pushed out now?
Bit nuts that you got your car a month later than me, but without 2.3 installed from the factory.

I checked the car about 20 mins ago and nothing, travel assist is now available again ( or so the car says ) but when going into the car settings it gave me some warning about something not available, didn't pay too much attention to be honest, there is no update so just got out.
Yeah it's mad alright but at least I should have the hardware that doesn't require going back to the dealer like the 1st edition owners will need to for some other updates coming down the line and did I read about possible hardware upgrades being required also ?
I'm just reading from VW site that one of the Prerequisites for the 2.3 update is a We Connect Start contract ? I haven't activated this ?
Now I'm thinking that this is just activating the we connect app ?

we picked the moonstone grey cos it was free but am very happy with it. Car is filthy here and hides it well.
I would have thought you just need to be registered for the We Connect app.
We earlier buyers had to accept the update on an email sent to us. Not sure if that is still the case, would be worth checking with your dealer.

I need to get a good power washer, thinking about Petrol due to the hassles of using extension lead and because they're usually more powerful. Not sure yet. I have a stream a few feet from where I wash the car so I'm looking for a washer that could suck the water from the stream saving having to drag over the hose which if around 50 feet from the Well Pump House and it's a pain having to wind it back up. It would be nice to be able to blast a lot of the dirt off before touching it with a sponge.
If someone knows of a power washer that can suck water from a stream please let me know.
Another idea is a submersible pump I could throw in the stream and fill a barrel, but trying not to have to use electricity. Petrol is an easier option. Solar could be an option either, could use Solar PV to power a small pump to fill over a couple of days.
Another idea is of course to use a barrel and fill it from gutter but during the Summer months it would probably be empty more than full.
Yeah I will check with the dealer if I don't see an update soon. But think all the indications are that it's on the way.
On average, how long does it take from seeing the warnings on the dash do the update appearing ?

Sucking from the stream sounds dodgy to me. You’ll likely suck grit as well and be firing that at the car!

Can the update be completed via WiFi or has it to go through 4G ? 4G is not good here, sometimes the car has no signal but I could connect it to the house WiFi. I have no fixed line internet and had to put a 4G Antenna on a 10 foot pole on the Chimney to get the signal.
Think it has to use 4G, something to do with security IIRC. Update should be available after next decent journey all going well.
Might have no choice but to update in work so.
Once it's fully downloaded you can do the update whenever suits you. Just make sure over 50% battery and you cannot be charging.
