Homesavers (aka B&M in the UK) opened yesterday in Ballybrit beside DID
Homesavers? Did they advertise at all? Any opening offers? I remember going instore in Belfast and jaw dropped at their prices
Seems they are only open on Fridays and Saturdays. No mention of that on their social media so very annoying when you turn up and there's a closed sign on the door.
They were definitely open on Monday this week. FWIW.
Given how busy Briarhill was a lunchtime today, they must have advertised. Perhaps low key to stop it getting too manic.
Came across this - it's taken over by Anfora cafe from Abbeygate Street

New cafe opening in Bohermore, think it's in a former political constituency office, few doors down from Crowes. It's called Scran.
I called into Magnettis today to verify what I had been told on the phone when I rang midweek as it didn't feel right. Goodness knows what was going on with the guy who told me they are only open at the weekend as it was confirmed to me that they are open 7 days a week from morning to night. Looks like a nice spot so will give it a try soon.
Roscommon and athlone HOMESAVERS are open 7 days a week
You might wanna read what the person you quoted replied to.
oops
Ice rink back on the 19th.
Camile Thai opening in Glasán.
Any date proposed? Still miss Papa Rich from Briarhill. No! Chans or China court don't fill the gap.
Dunno, the unit has had work going on for around a month, I'd say it's only days/weeks away now. Signs up for hiring too.
Golden Discs opening Mon in Eyre Square
Is this in the centre?
Can somebody pinpoint exactly where in Eyre Square SC or on the square itself they're going to be? The Mothercare unit?
Any good does anyone know?
Not mothercare, that's now DV8.
Nowhere springs out as obvious.
Burger King is the only one I can think of. Unless it's the old AIB at the bottom of the Square. 3000sq ft isn't small so it's not a small unit.
It'd hardly be Dunnes food store beside the Advertiser offices?
Or the old Dunnes at the top near supermacs.
Haven't seen any signs of fitting out in any of them though.
That Dunnes was approved for change of use to a cafe/restaurant in the last year or so.
Maybe someone got their wires crossed and they meant Edward Square. Good few units available there, although ironically not the old HMV as I think that's a Laser Eye clinic AFAIK.
No that's gonna be a Therapie clinic (skincare).
Could be Edward Square but there's no work going on in any of the units available and it's only Next or Topshop that would be the size mentioned. Topshop unit hasn't even had any commercial real estate signage on it as yet either.
Another option is the ex-BOI / Workbench at the bottom of the square, just up from KBC. Again no external signs of any work though.
I'll cruise by the ex Burger King at lunchtime tomorrow for a look: it's got black plastic on the windows, so could be getting fitted behind closed doors with the To Let signs up still as a decoy.
Might be the where the monsoon shop used to be, seemed to be renovations in there lately
Carrolls Gifts going in there, sign up on the window.
Homesavers are not B&m.
B&m group did have 40% of Homesavers (home focus group) back in 2014.
They sold half of this in 2018 and the rest was sold last December.
They do have a supply agreement with B&M and B&M hold a 22.5% share of Centz.
But you can take it that you are not getting the same prices as customers of B&M. Frankly, I think Homesavers have mostly overpriced tat.
