I’d say you are right. My OOM was between 150-200.
Was this a 2-year competition?
From the booklet -
"It is not envisaged that appointments will be made from this competition after June 2022".
The current campaign opened for applications in 24th July 2020.
That's perfect! I assumed it was only one year! Thanks very much! 😊
Can I enquire as to roughly what your original oom was and whether it was open or inter
is it every 2 years they do the external contests for eo normally?
I believe so but I'm not 100% sure of that myself. However, if there won't be any appointments made from this campaign after June 2022 then the next campaign would have to be open well before that to allow for the panel to be formed by July 2022.
Anyone have any tips for the interview? I'd much appreciate any tips...
@sylverBell Last I enquired on 21 Oct, they were on Batch 2 open OOM 10 and Interd. OOM 4 to interview but advised they had no plans to call forward more candidates at that time.
Laois are on Batch 2 Open OOP 14 and Interd. OOM 7
Answer given.
I have been offered a position as EO with the gardaí, I currently work and have done so for two years as a grade IV in the health service working in a hospital. If I take up the position as EO does the time spent working here count for anything in regards to pension, years of service, or scale points?
quite new to all of this just trying to clarify a few things.
For anyone waiting on vetting, mine took slightly over two weeks so they mustn't have too much of a backlog at the minute.
Thanks very much Lisamc38. That makes me feel a little better about not hear anything yet. Yes my OOM was quiet high so that makes sense. Best of luck to you too. Please keep us updated if you hear anything. :)
Edited: answered in an earlier post
Hi All
I've just been notified I'm being assigned to the DSP office in D'Oliers St in Dublin. Anyone have any experience of working there, if so how is it? Is there likely to be much WFH options?
Were you in the open or interdepartmental groupings or both for Dublin?
I was just in the open.
Currently in batch 3.1 waiting on Garda vetting to come back and then hopefully I’ll hear from whatever department I’m being assigned to. Seems DSP & Garda are taking a good few panelists at the moment?
My main concern is the location as I’m reliant on public transport, crossing everything for a central location!
good luck to all being called to interview stage , from experience they are very friendly & follow the competencies as they are listed on the PAS site. They also ask about individual work history. I found it very manageable (and I’m a complete newb to the civil service recruitment experience)
Not 100% but I’m pretty sure you start at the first point on the scale if you are entering the EO position from open competition.
Do you know what location you will be based?
HSE and county council time worked not considered when taking EO
is EO paid fortnightly or monthly?
I’m in a similar position at the moment and HR have said they will have to check and get back to me if service will count! Fingers crossed but not holding out too much hope, though I only have 11 months acting up service at grade IV in HSE so not the end of the world
HSE and Tusla service is transferrable to Civil service. DSP matched my previous salary and increment date. It's covered under government pay circulars. So do the research and know what you are entitled to.
That’s great to know thank you
Fortnightly
Still waiting for clearance to get back to me they've requested further documents so fingers crossed sooner rather than later.
Is there any scope for WFH where you're based?
Sorry forgot to respond to your comment, no idea how many are in the batches sorry! Hopefully you won’t be waiting too long to be called, I was surprised how quickly I was called
As far as I know public sector experience counts towards increments..
Question for Dublin panel. Anyone from batch 3.1 assigned a position this week I was just wondering what your oom was?
My husband is 26 and I'm just wondering are we close....
