RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
One of the most unbelievable part of the plots was Con being allowed to get away scot free.
A proper ruthless boss like Eamon says he is would have put a bullet through Cons head the next day.
whatever about the plausibility of Kem siding with kinsellas…. That the kinsellas would send one brother into a high percentage chance of an ambush is not plausible.
i said airports are crawling with police. The car parks are not but cameras, yes, and they are crawling with people coming and going. They could have showed Michael in a motor bike helmet and it would have been a little better. Otherwise we’ve to believe Michael uses a disguise to enter and leave the car park but takes it off in between.
Rotten Tomato users don't count as critics, do they?
Average rotten tomato user below.
With all the negativity on here, I'm keeping this short.
I thoroughly enjoyed the season. No, it's not perfect. Acting was anywhere from good to shockingly bad at times. Plot had holes, but then again, few don't. But it had plenty of tension, a decent story, and an interesting setting in Dublin.
No, it wasn't a Sopranos or a Breaking Bad in quality, but all the critics seem to forget that those shows are the absolute exception, not the rule. Kin slotted in nicely for me as a fun, interesting, and decent-quality show for eight weeks and I look forward to a second season.
Waterford Whisper got shot down by having a black guy as a druggy.
Eamon was shot through the eye, so whats the story with the photo of him lying dead in this article?
Have RTE messed up?

It was a good show, only the first series, I look forward to the second
Do you understand what Rotten Tomatoes is? It seems not.
Was Kem offed?
D’ya think the bullet just stopped after ruining his eye???
The Godfather riff was embarrassing, just absolutely cringe. If it was done as a way to poke fun at itself it would almost be funny, but they were dead serious lol.
Why did Jimmy get sick? Is he not a hardened gangster per episode 1?
Why did they kill Eamonns boss? They just made the situation a million times worse.
I find myself asking questions like this after each episode and the answer is usually that in order for the plot to make sense, everyone in the show has to be a complete moron and the audience need to stop thinking about it.
Looks like his eye healed amazingly well.
Magic ! 😆
Mods nowadays have to actually witness the event in person, report function not functioning:)
didnt stop 'them' from nabbing me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙊🤐🙄
geebag tits prick fucknugget
Presume they thought showing someone with a bullet hole for an eye was a bit too gruesome for a news story.
Does that mean it was CGI-ed in after? Or the make up was done after the picture was taken?
Unless the stills photography took place another day - though that looked more like a film still than a photo still.
A dumb boss would kill him immediately. Eamon was not dumb. Use Con to get the drugs back then deal with him.
Yeah I expect they CGIed the bullet hole afterwards (I don't think Ciaran Hinds would lose an eye in the name of art!) and RTE had or were given a still picture from filming.
Which brother for which potential ambush? Jimmy with Kem and Con? Not sent by the Kinsellas but by his wife who had obviously scared Kem enough at his house to get him to play ball. All her decisions and predictions were smart and thought through and her intuition was right about Kem.
Michael is an experienced hitman. Not hard to suss out where the cameras are and act accordingly (disguise/cut wires/positioning). How many cameras per level? maybe two? The only place to get to Eamon and fate would determine whether there were witnesses or not. Sometimes the car parks full, sometimes empty. You take your chance.
A bigger question. Why do some posters here deem such a hit implausible in an Irish series yet not question them in international dramas?
No I don't, but I do think that RTE used a photo taken before the CGI guys did their stuff.
They didn't kill Eamon's boss but the son of his supplier. Michael probably hadn't been watching Kin every Sunday evening so he wouldn't have known who the guy was. He had to make the assumption they were two armed bodyguards and thus a threat.
A website for reviews of TV and film I guess. I don't use it much. You can't count users as real critics though, can you?
Does 100% means it's actually 100% bad, is that it?
I didn't know you were being sarcastic when you said it was getting strong critical acclaim.
That pose reminds me of how the entire cast looked throughout the series (Comatosed) and obviously most of us on this thread. 🤣🤣
Yeah Jimmy the whisperer, forgot that characters name. Amanda sent her husband to a mission where Kem, who is already exposed as a snitch, was to be relied about to not double cross the Kinsellas despite it being financially lucrative and he got in with a much bigger more powerful gang if he did. Yet Kem is to be trusted with the lives of the gang members and it turns out he can be relied upon to do this. Why did Kem ever become a snitch? It makes no narrative sense?
the answer to your bigger question? Well it’s actually wrong in my case. I compared Kin in a post to Line of Duty saying it wasn’t quite as ridiculous plot wise as that show.
He became a snitch as he felt he'd do better for himself by working for the other gang.
And when he had that chance to do better he stayed loyal to kinsellas. I mean maybe …. But that Amanda chose to entrust Jimmy’s life to snitching Kem is just not a believable narrative
Looks like Conte.

Thats even more unbelievable than Kins storyline !!!
A disguise? Why would he have it on, but then take it off while assassinating 3 people ???
Cut wires? Would the security team not notice something is wrong if 1/2/3/4 cameras go down ?
Positioning? I take it you mean he waited until they were somewhere where theres no cameras? So he would have to know where they were going, follow them (take off his disguise - if he had one) and then wait until they were in a section with no cameras and no witnesses, kill the 3 lads, go back to where he has his disguise (if he had one) put the disguise back on , and then leave the area ..............
Yeh, probably came down to being an experienced hitman ..................................................
