And both Ciaran Hinds and Gillen are now gone 🙄 So the seed is gone, we are now left with the chaff. Hopefully, Brendan will get more scenes if there is a season 2. Criminally underused. Wonder will a big name come into it?

Michael killed the son of a Turkish mafia boss, and his bodyguard. There's scope there, but I'd say he'll be in for a pretty brutal death if they settle his account!

This is completely different. This is a gangland context and Amanda who is only an in-law, simply just decided she was taking over the crime family as you do. In reality, if she tried that with an actual crime gang she'd end up in the canal.

saw the godfather pastiche coming a mile off and this show did not earn it
not as bad as some on here making out, I gave up and got pulled back in but that ending was poor

If Frank dies, which is left unclear but looks likely as she said there was no pulse when she rang the ambulance, Birdie will assume Amanda arranged that somehow. She may make a move against her.
Someone has to fill the void Eamon left in Dublin, the Kinsellas are too small and wounded after the feud so someone else, or several others, will step in.

Unrelated note, Ciaran Hinds has a new show in the early new year called The Dry. He's the main supporting character. It's about a party girl moving from London to Ireland and attempting to move past her alcoholism. Wonder if it'll be good.
If all they've left to work with is Amanda, series two will be renamed as Grim. Utterly silly character, impossible to like or take seriously.
There's a possibility of Bren being released and taking charge but of what exactly, Just can't see this nonsense making it to a 2nd series . The story, writing, Directing, acting was utterly dreadful . But we should be tankful of two things........
They kept that absurd Dectective Garda Diversity and even more absurd Solicitor out of the final episode 😏
I hope that Frank is dead, Gillen should stray away from Irish tv and do anything anywhere else.
I suppose it kept Amy Huberman away from the 9:30 slot although they'll probably have her as Amanda's rival next season along with the first Tranny gangland boss 🤣

Not at all, an awful lot of female rulers became so through getting others ahead of them in line to the throne knocked off through cunning. Many a cuckoo through a swallow out of it's nest. I'm not an expert on gangland and i doubt you are either but there's nothing to say a shrewd outsider, female, can rise to the top.
Don’t think I’ll be tuning in for season 2 with Don Amanda.
I was looking forward to this but the whole thing was terrible for many reasons. Ripping off the Godfather was the ridiculous.

It was good enough. Saying it was terrible is harsh but saying it was fantastic is false.
Different to Love/Hate which was clear and understandable.
I didn't find any of the Characters very likable tough.
A tad drawn out in places.
A few badly cast actors which have being mentioned here.
However they have potential for a second series. I don't know how Amanda will keep her son out of crime now tough seen she's nearly head of the gang.

They are very rare and i can imagine its a very slow and considered process. If there is women dons, or even capos, i cant even think of one. This girl ran the showroom and just decided she was taking Franks job....That would go down like a lead balloon in reality.
