RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
Yes, only in the TV series Kin, it wasn't filmed in Spain, but in the car park behind Block P5 in the East Point Business Park in Dublin.
The series started ok and ended ok. There were some pretty low points throughout. I'd probably watch series 2.
Why would you give away spoilers ???
ffs
Are they such a thing as Mods on boards anymore !??!
The thing is, 90% of the chat is saying how slow/boring/cliched/kettle boiling/close ups/accents are terrible on the show !!
I enjoyed the series over all, the family structure is a little confusing and still is even after watching the full series. I would put this ahead of Love/Hate if you were to go on first seasons directly compared to each other this was more professionally done with better storyline.
Still, the GF2 vibe rings through,, Eamon Cunningham was shot through the eye,, just like Moe Greene ..
Feels like it never got going. First episode big shock then just simmer away. Definitely wrote this to lead to another series, dunno that I’m that invested to care what happens to them to watch another series.
Not quite, the supplier of the 50 million worth of gear to Eamon is still very much alive and he has also lost a son by the hands of the Kinsellas. He is their biggest enemy now
Episode 8 was the best yet..
But to be fair, it was a bit GF2,, as in,, "all the families enemy's are dealt with"
Next up from RTE Drama
(01) Hidden Assets (Nov 7)
(02) Conversations with Friends (2022)
(03) The Dry (Ciarán Hinds) (2022)
(04) Smother Season 2 (2022)
(05) Harry Wild (Jane Seymour 8 part mystery series Dublin) (2022)
A very Godfather inspired ending..............or pure rip off more like, lazy
That's a bit generous. You work for AMC or RTE don't you 🤣🤣🤣
All very predictable for the last episode.
Doesn't deserve a second series really.
If "Kin" was a takeaway it would be a stodgy pizza - unfulfilling taste-wise and risks leaving you feeling bloated.
Last episode 5.5/10
Overall 4.5/10
*Don't forget, hide the spoilers for Sunday viewers!*
I agree with the sentiments expressed by my RT Hon Friend above.
There's no way around having a season 2.
The Raid Movies were action packed, fast paced and fight scenes choreographed beautifully. That's really all the positives I can give it.
She's in a same sex relationship and has been for the last 4yrs apparently. So same sex or not ya haven't a chance lol
While that's irrelevant, yes she has an awesome arse, she's incredibly beautiful and unfortunately she's a terrible actor.
Just watched the finale. The EP's & writers were very clever. There had to be a 2nd series now.
Best episode of the lot, really enjoyed it but I think it's fair to say "best of a bad bunch"
Se y'all for Season 2
You'd put up with it ha
They called ...she was out for a walk at the time
the finale was good for what it's worth, not too keen on the prospect of another season. The writer dumbed down the characters a bit too much.
Felt a little bit too predictable, we all knew Amanda was gonna end up winning but am interested to see how season 2 would look. Is it gonna be like peaky blinders where each season tommy goes up against another figure.? With Hinds gone, I wonder who they would cast next.
Hard to believe it's 11 years since Love Hate started.
It certainly generated a lot of pages. For what it's worth, I enjoyed it. I am looking forward to the finale. I'm not sure, though, how I feel about the prospect of another series. In a way, I would prefer that there was only one season. Most Irish crime dramas, with a few exceptions, have tended to be for one season. Love/Hate was a very significant exception.
She speaks like Tommy in Love/Hate when he got brain damaged. The birth mark reminds me of American footballers
The actress who plays Amanda is good looking, but her acting and accent is pure fair city a lot of the time.
Whatever individuals think of the show it's eight episodes has generated 53 pages of chat so far.
I enjoyed it for what it was and hope to see a season 2.
They work as puppets for Amanda.
OTT I dont think so this is pants considering the hype RTE have put on it,ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
I wonder what Jimmy's and Frank's 'real jobs'
Eamonn is a hotelier, Amanda a car dealer
It was created by Gareth Evan's, look up his movies The Raid and The Raid 2 and you'll see what he's about! The fight scenes are so creative (the fight between Elliot and Cole in the building under construction in GOL ep3 was standout for me, amazing)
Anyway, best not get too far off topic. Re the Kin finale, it was a good episode and wrapped the whole thing up with some finality but it was pretty obvious what way it was going to go from early on in the ep. I'd watch a second season
They'd need a big name to replace Ciaran Hinds. Wonder if Gabriel Byrne would do it! He was quite good in the recent ZeroZeroZero I thought
