That also came up in mine! I second that thanks!
On Monday I received a message to state I have been assigned to a position in Dublin. Has anybody any experience of how long I may be waiting for a start date ?
anyone know what to add for additional info on part 2 of form , also top corner reference (should it be left blank for Revenue to reference?
thanks in advance
Did that message give the name of someone to contact if you had any queries or who was it you contacted?
I interviewed for Kildare a couple of weeks ago and Tuesday just gone got assigned a department and location just waiting to hear about a start date etc
customsrecruitment@revenue.ie
It didn’t give a name, just an email to contact it was revenuepasrecruitment@revenue.ie, sent them a message 3 weeks ago but didn’t get a reply. Maybe it’s not an unusual length of time to wait but just hoping to double check!
I’m in the same boat but not waiting to hear as long but my message on public jobs gave me the email of an actual person rather than a group email - that’s what I was trying to work out was it a person not replying or was it a group email. I suppose you could draft a nice email explaining that you are a bit distressed worrying etc? It’s a pity you didn’t get an actual name though having said that I haven’t emailed mine so haven’t a clue if that’s any better but I’m only two weeks waiting.
Hi Leave ref empty is for the revenue Section too just The organisation name is the revenue and Date and the applicant Name .is it an online form or hard copy?
Hi can someone help me. I starting first week of November in my assigned Department.
I am told I will be in the IT unit......BUT I don't have any IT knowledge. What will Clerical Officer doing in IT Unit?
stmount
I was told in September that I was being assigned to a position in Dublin and to send in my ID etc. Then I was sent Garda Vetting forms, they took about a week. On Oct 12th I got a call to say I will be starting on November 15th and they emailed me my contract, bank details form etc. I have sent those back and they said they will be in touch nearer the start date as to where exactly I am going. I know it is Justice and will be Burgh Quay or Mount St, but still awaiting confirmation. All tolled from interview to start date it has taken around three months.
I don't have much IT knowledge either..just emails, social media and that sort of thing. I have used Word occasionally but I am sure training will be provided 😊
That sounds doable. If training will be provided, that's even better. I was worried about my role there😊. So it means they are not considering my previous experience in Finance from private sector.....meaning that I will start on grade 0 payroll? Thanks @Polly50.
I just checked on the contract. The weekly pay is stated!! Sorry for asking before checking everything.🙈
I am waiting on Garda Clearance at the moment and hoping to get a start date after that, however I’m booked into Center Parcs midweek in December to bring my 6 year old son - will they ask about holidays booked does anyone know? I’d hate to have to reschedule as it’s been cancelled twice due to restrictions and this will be his first holiday.
The civil service is usually flexible around these things.
Does anyone know if CO’s in the passport office are currently WFH/blended working?
Hi
I hope someone can advise - my partner applied for the CO 2020 he was interviewed and asked to submit for vetting process and references.
He was asked to supply a ref from his current employer which he passed on details but he has since received an email to say his application has basically lapsed due to his ref not been received. He is so upset but also annoyed as he did speak to his current employer about the application. Has anyone heard anything happen like this before he is very disheartened now as he had come so far down the line. ?
Any advice very welcome?
Does the reference need to be from current employer? If you are longer with previous employer, would that not be sufficient?
References can be from the previous 3 years.
Apologies I should of said his current employer who obviously doesn't want him to leave.
That's excellent. Thank you
I would be livid. Unfortunately, there is no statutory entitlement to a reference from his current employer but still...
Have been assigned to DEASP vetting and red checks done but heard nothing just wondering how long it took you to get a start date in the end?
In the same boat at the min - your post is a few months ago just wondering how long it took you to get a start date in the end?
Get on to the rep straight away, either by phone or email. Copy the email that your husband sent with the dets showing time it was sent. Reaffirm your interest in the role and it shouldn't be an issue.
Something similar happened to me where i sent all my details but file was to large and bounced back to my spam. Rang the rep and emailed a few days after deadline when i spotted it and she put me back on the panel without an issue.
Make sure there is not a full stop at the end of the email as they will copy that over without realising it and it obviously won't send. That also happened to me and held things up a week or so.
hi ya
Anyone know what roles are going in Cork. Got called for interview for next Friday which was a surprise as I honestly thought this whole panel had expired by now.
I've an interview too but not in Cork. I think it's for if roles become available so I guess it could be anywhere. I've read a few times that there is demand in DEASP but not sure if that's true.
congrats...mine is for cork. Best of luck in yours. Im in the public sector already and we are constantly looking for staff but the civil service seems much different and much slower.
Best of luck to you too :)
