Got a vomiting bug, never as sick in my life. From Sunday evening until after noon today a total write off. Nothing worse
I was at the ideal homes in the RDS yesterday. Complete waste of time. Reminded me of the crap tents at the ploughing selling rubbish or selling some mad product that was going to make life so much better.
Stopped in Liffey Valley on the way back and looked in the wallet and said I have enough for an Eddie Rockets. Queued up outside it as is the norm and after 20 minutes got to the front of the queue. Showed the cert, then had to produce photo ID. I'd nothing on me and didn't drive so no licence nearby. Screwed. Wasn't allowed in. I was fuming. Not at the fact they wanted ID which is fair enough I guess and it is in the way of working for indoor dining, but fuming at being left queuing for so long and then be turned away. A sign or something along the waiting area could have meant my time be better spent, and the 3 year old not be devastated he wasn't getting a bit of a milkshake
I'd take Covid over the vomiting bug any day. Got the vomiting bug Xmas eve 18. Didn't leave the house for 4 days. Spent 2 full days driving the porcelain bus. No idea where I picked it up.
How do pregnant women tolerate morning sickness is a mystery to me. The thought of puking or even just feeling like it would be a great contraceptive for me.
Worst feeling is nothing in your stomach but still wretching
A good friend who is a few years older than me got awful morning/day sickness that lasted through most of her pregnancy. She had to drink electrolytes several times a day and most of the time she threw it back up. She reckon the taste of it made her feel worse and I use to tease her and say that if she was calf I'd be able to stomach tube her. I was very fortunate with my pregnancies and thankfully only got nauseous for a week or two around the 10 week stage although I couldn't look at pizza's or baked beans without wanting to vomit. Some women are lucky and don't have any nausea feeling or vomiting.
You can't blame them, they'll be first to be closed if this goes wrong again, Those that have been on foreign holidays are advising printing out your Covid pass, for some reason you won't always get it up on your phone..... maybe overkil but still.
Very few places ask for proper identification which makes you more liable to be caught offguard
I got food poisoning years ago as a teenager and was dry retching for three days. The smell of food cooking made it even worse. Mam kept me going on sips of lucozade - the original proper stuff in the clear glass bottle with the orange plastic wrapper and teaspoons of sweet rice pudding.
I got dioralyte and diet 7up. Immodium tablets. Haven't eaten anything yet

Put diesel in jeep this evening, €50 did what €40 did a month ago
I had some fun putting €112 something diesel in the van the last day. And not option, if I get something delivered the merchant will charge for that. Can't exactly move the farm parcels into one block.
€70 is the new €50 when it comes to diesel atm. It's really knocking the good out of anything that involves much milage. Thankfully my jeep is fairly economical and I don't drive that fast otherwise it would nearly be more cost effective to stay at home when you take wear and tear, food ect out of the days wages.
Back in my younger days when I started on a trawler. On the odd occasion in rough seas I used to get sea sick. The skipper always stocked extra loafs of bread. He would force you to eat dry bread or toast. It's better to have something to puke up than nothing
Same as a kettle if it's gets stuck boiling, better with water in it than dry.
I topped up my little lorry earlier today and diesel was €1.599c/l. When I got back home I was putting the diesel receipt in the file for the accountant and I looked back on a receipt from May and it was 1.289c/l.

Youngest told me something similar a few years ago when he was heading out to do surveys. A Skipper told him to pack several packets of Rich Tea, Arrowroot or Cream Cracker biscuits.
Roll on a few years later and he is working in Scotland/North Sea where apparently the food of choice on trawlers/survey ships is battered deep fried anything for breakfast, dinner and tae.

I wasn't surprised as he was on a couple weeks ago telling about a speech problem he was having.

Horrible disease.
Few neighbouring farms locked up with TB so we have to have a test, pain in the hoop but has to be done.
