As mentioned above, the acting from Anna is particularly poor. She was way too calm for someone who was just nearly kidnapped and put into a car.
I also didnβt find the son in boarding schoolβs acting convincing either. I couldnβt tell if he was laughing or crying.
Had it been him v Eamon in this show we would have had classic on our hands

The acting isn't bad at all, all teenagers are monotone, dead eyed, unresponsive small adults, in real life.
But she's not an actor is she.
I live in Dublin, however, if I needed a nurse, detective, solicitor and psychologist and I rang them up, the chances of them all being black are 0.00000000%
Nikita, Kem and Anna are all black.

I think the Nikita character's acting is relatively fine, no better or worse than some of the more experienced actors on the show.

Try ringing some of them so, there are plenty.

I mean, the whole thing is OTT, even Hinds, but Bren seemed especially OTT.
Well there are black gardai, so if one isn't a detective yet, (I don't know) it's only a matter of time. There are Chinese, eastern europeans, black people and even travellers in AGS.

However why the need to make him gay, especially considering him having a son is part of the story line (I appreciate in real life that there are plenty of gay men who have biological children and previous hetero relationships).
Could they not have portrayed his weakness in a different way? There are plenty of "weak" straight guys.
Making him gay just seems to a lazy way for the scriptwriters to belittle him. The material is school yard bully stuff from 20 years ago.
I think he's now riled up and will be a loose canon. So he's probably going to balls something up big time.

He (Francis Magee) speaks the Dublin argot pretty well considering he's Manx. Some Irish born and reared cast members are less competent in this regard.
Where do we see the potential 2nd series going if, as expected, Amanda takes out Eamon?

From the preview that played after the episode on Sunday night, seems Amanda meets Hinds in a vip lounge In dublin airport. So nobody is getting shot at this get together.
