For Model 3 there is a 13k difference before taxes between SR+ and AWD LR. If we apply the same here that would make the Y SR+ 57k which would qualify for SEAI grant resulting a theoretical OTR of 52k. That would sell.
The simple fact is that you want a Y today, it ‘starts from’ €69,800 - even just choose a paint colour and you’re over €70k (and another €5k in finance interest, if you go that way).
as more and more people drive €40/45k cars with 350-450km range, never run short on juice, and tell their friends, the step up to the Tesla because of the old range anxiety argument is getting much harder to justify.

Just saw the Completecar.ie review and it’s essentially the same as the others - good car, not great. Ride is too stiff, to the extent of causing some wheel hop, which is almost unacceptable really.
hugely anticipated car, so it was always going to struggle to live up to the M3 ride and handling, as it’s higher/bigger/heavier, but on the same underpinnings.
its also a year late to the medium-SUV EV game here in Ireland (feels like it was announced years ago), so it’s pricing makes it look just too expensive, even ‘for a Tesla’. There are now plenty better options available for MUCH less money - probably the first Tesla model to have this problem.
The buyers here will be comparing it to an i4 maybe, esp in the €70-80k price, and the i4 m50 versus the MY P.
Plenty of other BETTER options around for much less money? Which then? 😂
BMW i4 reviews aren't great either and nothing else can really compete

The BMW looks much smaller in the back than the Model Y. More like an Audi TT than a family sized car.
The comparison is a bit unfair. The BMW is one of the smaller D class saloons / hatches, same as Tesla Model 3. In any of them, you'd struggle to get 3 adults in the back, unless they are very small. I guess what doesn't help is the transmission tunnel in the i4, which makes the problem much worse. One of the biggest criticisms I have seen that re-occurs in pretty much any review. If you're a family of 5, forget it.
The Model Y is a car that is a full size bigger than both of the above and seats 3 adults no problems
I've watched a bunch of the TeslaBjorn videos on YouTube and they seem to have superchargers all over Norway.
So then which of the BMW line-up would be a direct competitor to Model Y? iX ?
In Norway and some other much more advanced countries like the Netherlands, there are plenty of public fast charging options around that are not Tesla. In most other countries though, the other chargers are few and far between, not enough of them per location, unreliable and / or expensive. Like in Ireland. In any of these countries the Tesla supercharger network is a huge benefit for anyone needing to publicly fast charge regularly.

New orders now showing as Mid 22. Does that mean existing orders will be affected also, when I ordered on the 15th it was showing early '22?

Treated myself recently to a trip up to Sandyford to check this out. Kevin the salesman there reckons there’ll be no Berlin RHDs during 2022. There was a red MY with Dutch plates that I could sit into, no test drives poss until the media are finished with it.

The section “When I wrote the script for this…” starting at 4:54 is refreshingly honest! He had drafted his writeup - based on the reviews of many others - to be critical of the suspension. But changed his mind after a - probably short - test drive….
These reviews are fun to watch for us fanboys but pretty thin on substance!
Probably better to watch reviews from the US, based on more than short test drives.

That's the most ridiculous car review I've ever seen. To paraphrase: "We bought the Model Y with the optional $10k full self driving option. The car is grand but FSD isn't really working yet"
