So according to the Leader, Homebase are currently negotiating the renewal of their lease and they've no intentions of leaving Limerick. It seems that that this other crowd are trying to gazump them and take the unit for themselves.
Can't say you'd blame the landlord for looking into other potential clients to lease it. Homebase were pulling out only a few years ago and changed their minds last minute.

The stranger thing about this is the units in limerick one ??re tail park where burton evans etc was are empty and are very large also the old smiths is still empty isnt it all a bit odd really

The fact that there is large empty units for rent in the vicinity why go out of the way to try and acquire an occupied unit ?
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. It's definitely Decathlon as well. The planning documents are up on the council website.
Neither unit is as large as the Homebase unit. And the owners of Limerick One recently received permission to subdivide the old Smyths unit into two units.
If you go through the retail impact assessment, they are named there.
At the time there was simply an application from a group of agents, nothing like there is now. There was nothing more than an applicant when I made the original comment.

Regarding the Decathlon story, they usually have a fenced off external area for several outdoor sports . Homebase has this, the empty units mentioned don't.
So let's turf out the competition? I don't think 1 shop is nthe thing making it hard for them
true, but Treaty need to try and integrate themselves into the Liverpool fans' consciousness so the Liverpool fans become fans of both Treaty and Liverpool.
I am forever trying to persuade my friends who support English sides to also give their the local LOI side a go, it's not an either/or situation, there's space in their hearts for both...
As it happens, Treaty have a big game this Friday, if they (we?) win, they are into the play-offs for promotion. I'd ask anyone who wants to see Limerick sport do well to pick up a ticket, we're a broad church, we'll find space for you somewhere... off to see Munster v Connacht then 24 hours later, there's space for both...

I noticed a new Regatta factory outlet open in Arthurs Quay today. All they seem to have are shoes and scarves.

I went to the Co-op yesterday to buy some winter shirts only to discover that Regatta have a concession there too. I was unhappy about that, If I wanted to buy a Regatta product I could have went to to one of their stores. Now, I will buy them, yet it will be online and that means all of the money I spend leaves the country.
Why was having Regatta in a Co-op bad and why is it making you buy online ?
Because once all of the previous stock is sold all clothing in Co-op will be Regatta (That's what I gathered from speaking to a staff member). I becamce attached to the style, quality and price of their clothing brands such as LMA (France) and Hoggs of Fife (Scotland). One positive thing is that the Co-op are doing their own brand of Rain-gear, so hopefully if that proves popular they might start looking at other lines of clothing.
Regatta has been in the Co-Op for years, and lots of other places besides. I wouldn't mind what any staff member tells you.
While it is true that one could purchase Regatta products in the Co-op for many years those products were shelved alongside other brands/products, however, now when you walk into the store (Raheen, in this case) the whole clothing section is now Regatta.
I don't have a problem with Regatta selling there - I never did. I am disappointed that I can't purchase other brands there.
