Fairly likely he was targeted as a government MP rather than an opposition one but I doubt the attacker knew or cared much more than that.

the tactic for the last few years is for the Jihadi to surrender... carry out lawfare.. trials etc are big opportunity for publicity and to keep the fear in targetted populace going by keeping the attack in the news, even for years. Black sites outside of Europe don't seem like such a bad idea now

It's not "people here" it's very much a wider thing. Jo Cox was brought up for about 3 years straight in relation to Brexit. If this MP has 10+ mentions in The Guardian three years from now I'l eat my hat, same if their name is referenced for more than six months when talking about Islam in the UK.

Nobody is proposing northern style internment here of every randomer being interred . WE are in a state of war with islam(their theology), they even divide the world into themselves(dar el islam) and all others as The House of War(dar el harb). If their ability to enact a terror attack say in the likes of London has been thwarted by the police then the obvious thing to do is change tactic. And even if security personal are stationed at every surgery then they'll just change tactic again. Who knows what they might do next.
France has been in a state of emergency since the Bataclan and Nice attacks, with soldiers on the streets, at every place of worship and guarding schools(particularly Jewish schools). They have have tens of thousands of potential jihadi classified as fiche s and despite all this effort have been unable to stop all attacks(catholic priest beheaded on the Alter, Nice attack, even Germany is seeing them). THis is the future for Western Europe unless action is taken now. In 20 years time we will be looking with envy at Poland and Hungary and the Baltic countries.

I was at an anti terrorism seminar a few years back and they showed us the videos used to recruit these lone wolf types (we were warned not to Google them unless we wanted the MET at our door)
They make one for each targeted county using people with local accents and always use local shop names like B&A or whatever as places to source knives.

Again i do not want to be at war with an entire civilisation, but the tenents of Islam do declare an eternal conflict( and not a spiritual conflict between good and evil a-la Christianity) between Islam and non islam, with peace(the famous religion of peace) only occuring when Islam has incorporated all of non Islam.
