This is not good. It is very bad.

Does boards.ie supply you a tailored feed of content or am I missing something??
If you can't see the difference then more fool you.
A few posters are talking some amount of s.hite on this thread. So far, we've seen Facebook, the Irish media and Irish politicians blamed. Oh, and me personally because I started a thread about the activities of relative of a retired Irish politician. Yeah, I'd better hand meself into the cops! 🤔 No-one's blamed Mary Lou McDonald yet but it's only a matter of time.
You say that, but I think there has been incidents of TDs being attacked in Ireland. I think last year Varadkar had coffee thrown on him. A protestor took a swing at Timmy Dooley outside Dail Eireann in 2016. TD offices have also been vandalised.
Now you might say that this doesn't amount to a stabbing or shooting, but 20 years ago in the UK Prescott was being egged. The idea of attacking politicians can start as small acts aimed at public humiliation, and then ramp up as oddballs and extremists try to raise the stakes. Personally I think any attack on a politician or state employee should be taken extremely seriously because of the chilling effect it can have on political representation, but often its not.
BNP will love that
Who was the last person?
Jo Cox, she was murdered a few days before the referendum in 2016.
Papers are referring to the perp being Somali. So nada to do with brexit or tories etc. Just the murder of a prominent "filthy kuffar" for the sake of it. Though mental health will probably get the blame
David Cameron organised the Brexit referendum to win over UKIP voters and never believed the UK would actually vote to leave and it backfired on him.
Box ticking exercise which was designed to appeal to a certain cohort of voters (in this case UKIP voters) is exactly what it was.
Are you going to withdraw the remark you made about me making excuses for this scumbag?
There have been many attempts at assaults on Irish politicians.
The recent development of people 'protesting' at the homes of politicians is a slippery slope.
Probably was never on Social media in his life.
Won't stop those using yet another tragic victim to their own ends though.
Reading more about him, seems like he was a decent hard working person. RIP.
It's mad. Alot of the right wingers pro brexiters were given free reign to vouce their views on main stream tv. Here's Darren Grimes on Sky News threatening to punch MP's and unleashing dark forces not seen since the 30's unless he gets his way.

In the 1980s, people tried to assassinate the Pope, the US President and the entire British government. Even poor, harmless old Gerry Adams got shot. In the 1990s, a gunman murdered 16 children and their teacher in a village in Scotland. In 2001, there was that thing that happened in New York. This decade is no more crazy than the other crazy decades before it.
Its crazy someone comes from one of the worst places on the planet to live in, is given refuge in a safe country and they turn around and murder a decent person who from what I've read about him used his position to try to help people.
I'll believe as soon as I see a tiny little thread of evidence other than from barstool experts
Nah, I'm quietly confident this decade will be much worse. Barely two years in we've already had a near worldwide lockdown of Hollywood movie proportions - on top of the usual craziness.
Seriously, is this a spoof post?

It hasn't even kicked off yet
Plagues of locusts will rain down. Tsunami in Ballybunion .. biblical flooding .. Shannon .. Limerick city washed upriver to join Athlone to make a bigger town
SF storm the Dail and declare a Republic ..
A Croke Park size meteorite rocks the planet and drive us from our beds at 3am shivering with fear
These present days will seem like the rare ol times
RIP , nice man by all accounts, I don’t mean to be offensive but he’s a comedy legend , he is the CAKE MP from brasseye
You've been listening to George Lee again.
With the way things are...If I was an MP conducting a surgery regardless of anything in the way of a perceived threat or intelligence, I’d be bringing a security guard or two and implementing some security measures in addition...the days of just turning up with a PA id say are well gone in the aftermath of this.
Extraordinary.
Eight posts in and with the MP's body still warm Brexit is already being blamed.
As we know from subsequent news coming out of Southend it's probably best not to speculate on motives until the real experts have had a chance to do their jobs.
John Doe1 threadbanned
For obvious reasons, this horrific incident will draw comparisons with the equally horrific murder of Jo Cox, but can we please leave the left Vs right, Brexit Vs remainer, refugee Vs indigenous, religion Vs religion bollocks out of this for a day and just all agree that this was nothing less than a murder by an absolute ****
His politics didn't matter, he was on the receiving end of an Islamic act.
Eventually we will see it. Easy targets for the religion of peace to express itself.
Not offensive mate bit perhaps a little untimely.
