If you consider a poster quoting a poster on a Reddit thread, and then asking that all quotes of her post be deleted, authentic, then yeah.
What's this about reddit?
Think I'm late to this party.
These claims aren't confined to here or reddit, they have real life substance. If we're all talking about the same things that is.
Must scroll back
Whether anything was heard or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that many of the dubious things we are told make a case against Bailey, like whether he knew Sophie or not, or could have got over and back to her house during the night, are simply fact in the case of Alfie but much too easily dismissed.
Authentic means real, undisputed or genuine. Everything we have is unsubstantiated. It may be authentic but until we have some form of proof it's only hearsay.
Yea, I must have missed the authentic claims bit,
All I got was some anonymous Reddit poster heard it from someone,
who heard it from this lad who heard it from his father who heard it from his wife
who heard from this guard on his deathbed.
I must go back and look for the authentic story now.
I can't see Jim spending much time on this "Dúirt bean liom......
🙃
What's happening on forums does not equal what's happening in the real world.
First lesson of interweb.
Second lesson of interweb;
Be aware of sarcasm and irony in some posts.
Sorry, yes, it's Sophie, not Susan. My mistake.
Yes, the subject of Alfie and Shirley seems to come up every now and then. I've read it in an earlier post, so I thought I should respond.
As someone else eluded to the claims are specific and made by multiple users who claim they are genuine. Given these individuals have a long posting history I can't see why they would make them without thinking they are genuine.
One of the claims made here for example is that John O' Donnell died on 9/09/01 so we should be able to substantiate that claim. There are also other bits of the story that should be determined to find out if it has serious substance. As I say I'd be surprised if this activity hasn't already been done.
Did a John O' Donnell die on that date, was this JOD the JOD detective stationed in Bantry?
Where they definitely not involved in the murder investigation? Why?
Who are John O' Donnell's nurse's son and husband who are apparently spreading the story of the deathbed confession?
Search the Southern Star on the Irish newspaper archives
You have to have a subscription. It may be possible to access it in a library, if they are open for that

Registration Of Births Deaths & Marriages is public and I think is in the HSE office, used to be anyway. I am not sure if you are allowed search yourself or have to give them the name. You would probably have to go to the office in Bantry as far as I know. I may be wrong
People do know all this stuff and have verified relevant things.
You can search for articles without a subscription
Well if someone on here has done this it would be very helpful if they would put up a link or a screenshot or something that would at least confirm this guy's existence. Because right now all those of us not 'in the know' have to go on is a Gemma O'Doherty article.
any more times you want to say it??
There was some sort of boards crash. Am seeing duplicate posts on many threads.
Well, it's 3 more times than any relevant answer to his question.
Yah & risk the possibility of being done for slander, defamation of character especially of a former gard, I dont think so
Sorry in triplicate. Can't seem to delete them either...
How would posting say a screenshot of a local newspaper obit of this guy (which let's face it is unlikely to contain the kind of juicy details that people who want to link him to this case are looking for) be worse in that regard than the unsubstantiated claims that are already being thrown around about him in this thread?
To say someone allegedly did something isn't slander. nor can you be done for defamation.
Your saying that it is alleged they did something. Not they actually did it. So pointless argument your making. I half expect Jim plans on lifting the lid on the JOD story in season two. I couldn't see him getting involved unless there was a chance to really set the record straight.
@ScoobySna what can you tell us about these people and their intentions. Who's working on it and why?
The screenshot of the death notice has already been posted, not that it means anything, but you're right, if the info is authentic let's see it. Someone said it's true doesn't really cut it unfortunately.
Jim, you've been calling the Gaurds out for weeks here, being done for slander doesn't seem to be one of your worries.
Not been a great few weeks for the guards first five caught working for Dublins favourite cartel then misclassifying 999 emergency calls to avoid paperwork. No need to slander them when they are doing it themselves. Only one man for the job.
The lack of an AC-12 is half the reason the Gardai is the way it is 😂
People are going a bit further than just alleging though & thats all I'm going to say on the matter
And rightly so, many reasons to call them out especially in relation to the case but one of the reasons why I've defended Bailey is because he's had his reputation destroyed without proper proof and plenty or rumor. I haven't destroyed anyone's reputation & don't intend to either unless there is very good reason to. And the gards investigation deserves to be torn apart in this investigation, they destroyed key pieces of evidence, bribed witnesses to give false statements, fabricated statements, & engaged in a local campaign to ruin a mans life without a shred of hard evidence.
