EU went just as expected... hopefully my last ever FE1! Thank goodness its all over :)
Yep, just give me the 50 and I’ll be on my way thank you very much :) ha
to all who sat them, HAPPY F***KING FRIYAY and here’s to the proseccy this weekend and let not dwell! They cause enough of that leading up to them so enjoy and get them out of the head for now. And we’ll done :)
Congrats to everyone who sat Contract yesterday - i had a bit of time at the end so i copied the paper in case someone wanted it.
Hope everyone gets on okay with EU today! :) Well done guys we got there!
I'm the same as you. I would be delighted with 50% on the three I sat this sitting. Do not give a **** about the mark I get I just want to get them out of the way. Just saw that the results aren't available until 13th December though. That's 2 months of worry and doubt haha!
Maybe i got 48 and passed on the recheck. i think i have my recheck marked paper on emails (im just in work) although prob not much use now to be honest? i only got bumped up to a pass, at 50% but thats all i need and want in any of them haha
id get a recheck with anything over 46%, imo..
Wow! You passed on the recheck? Honestly wasn't even sure that was an option haha. Do you mind me asking what you got on the recheck? I've a feeling I've failed at least one of the ones I sat this sitting so rechecks might be of use to me.
examiner is lovely! i failed last march with 4 full questions and 1 bullet pointed paragraph for another question and got 47. passed on the recheck. I wouldn't worry too much if you have answers with relevant cases.
I'm of the opinion they will remain open to the option of sitting online, the last few sittings were, even when restrictions eased, i dont see why they'd revert back to holding all exams in person when its easier / more practical for some people.. although.. again.... we are forever surprised so who knows!
PPC exams are to be held in person so i have a feeling all exams will be back in person
9 weeks. Are they ok hun?
An re the Hybrid, if you email Fe1 section and advise you're due to start i think they prioritise that way :) good luck!
Hi guys,
Bit early to be thinking about the next sitting already I know.. but do you guys think that March’s sitting will be held online also or will they resort back to physical examinations?
Conscious that I have become quite comfortable with online exams and have not physically sat an exam in years!
Ugh 9 weeks again
Goodluck to those sitting EU today and to everyone on making it this far on the exams... hopefully results day is in our favour!
Saw this on the Law Society website this morning:
The results of the October sitting of the FE-1 are provisionally scheduled for publication during the week commencing Monday 13 December. As soon as the date for the publication of results has been finalised, we will email candidates with this information.
Does anyone know if those who are due to start PPC Hybrid in December will get their results quicker?
One of the ones thats marked soft. If you answer 5 questions with relevant cases and points youl 100% pass. Iv heard of people passing with 3 decent answers and two terrible ones. Just make sure you have cases for five answers and youl be grand.
Yes!
Is it ok to highlight sections of the legislation for EU?
Thank You! After a long while it finally clicked haha. Best of luck :)
Yeah I'm also worried rn, it's been a long couple of weeks! I'm covering the same topics as you just looking at General Principles fundamental rights and gender discrimination too... hoping it's enough but at this stage I don't think I can remember much more haha
So my understanding is that if a regulation is given you would need to prove both direct and individual concern, as 263 TFEU requires direct concern only for regulatory acts not for regulations; and regulatory acts are acts that have been adopted without the involvement of the Parliament (so under the Special Legislative Procedure). In Inuit it says that regulatory acts are acts of general application other than legislative acts- so regulations wouldn't fall under this definition. Very confusing that they have such similar names though- reminiscent of the Council of the EU and the European Council lol.... Hope that helps!
Would anyone be able to clarify regarding judicial review: if a regulation is given in a pq does individual concern and direct concern need to be proven or just direct concern. Griffith sample qs kind of conflicting Lisbon change to regulatory acts and saying both individual and direct but legislation saying just direct concern?
Ive just messaged you
One part haha went back and checked this for myself about 3 times during the exam.
Hey guys, does anyone have the March 2020 EU paper?
Contract Q8 was it answer both parts or one part?
Hey Guys! Starting to worry about EU now. Having done Constitutional and Equity this week feeling fairly burnt out.
Would I be alright having covered DE/MSL, Institutions, Judicial Review, Citizenship, Free Movement of Workers, Free Movement of Goods & Free Movement of Services & Establishment, and glanced over proportionality.
Does anyone know what the examiner is like in terms of marking? Have heard mixed reviews.
Interesting that there was only the one essay q again
Did same as you for 4 and 5, mentioned Pinnel's case briefly on 4 before moving on to estoppel. On 3 answered on best endeavors (Jet2Com v Blackpool Airport), contractual interpretation, and business efficacy/officious bystander.
Didn't do Q1, but I took exact same approach as you for 2, 4 & 5. My other two were the EQ on Penalties & the remoteness of damages - the shipping contracts
Yeah with there being 7 PQs in the March paper I was kind of expecting the same, maybe 2 essays but she went with the same style again. I only glanced at the shopping centre question, but I think you are on the right track there.
ooof.
Q1 - Laura's van: ITT, lack of consideration, no agreement.
Q2 - Tech Ltd's computers - Agreement (and different between ad and shop display) then mistake.
Q3 - Siopa upset about high quality tenants: certainty, contractual terms
Q4 - Pub with restrictions - Consideration and prom est.
Q5 - Lucy: Misrepresentation with Claude, and discharge from an enforceable contract with Paul..?
