You may want to read the OP again and compare it to reality. Also @brianhere changed from permanent to not permanent and so basically said that his thread and OP was a load of codswallop.
What measures have been lifted? Places reopened, but are still heavily restricted, and people can go more than 5km from their own home. Masks still required everywhere, vaccine passports, illegal for the unvaccinated to eat indoors, social distancing, children's education continues to be disrupted.
Global supple chain issues were predicted as well last year, and now they're happening.
you obviously missed the memo about 22nd October then, yeah?
What measures are going to be permanent and why?
You guys have failed utterly to answer this question.
Permanent is not permanent.
War is peace.
Ignorance is knowledge.
We've always been at war with Eurasia.
The conspiracy theory was always correct.
"semi permanent"
Hahaha thanks Brian, best laugh I've had all day
Places that were closed have reopened...
Nothing has changed.
The lack of self awareness is permanent
What measures have been lifted?
Well the ones that you mention in the very next sentence for starters.
But heavily restricted. And they were always going to reopen. And the 5km thing could never have been permanent. But that's it. No proper lifting of restrictions.
brianhere isn't saying that they will be semi-permanent. He's quoting Peadar Tóibín. Tóibín wrote 'semi-permanent' in his tweet.
And I have explained before, they were always going to be lifted. No proper lifting of restrictions.
So which measures will be permanent and why?
You can't answer this simple question and run away every time it's asked.
You know why you have to do this. Everyone else knows as well.
Why continue to pretend? It's just making you guys look a bit silly.
It appears JFK was also a lying, tin-foil-hat wearing, question avoiding, conspiracy theorist loon...
"We are as a people, inherently and historically opposed to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We decided long ago that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts far outweigh the dangers which are cited to justify it. Even today there is little value in opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating it's arbitrary restrictions. Even today there is little value in ensuring the survival of our nation if our traditions do not survive with it. And there is a very grave danger that an announced need for increased security will be seized upon those anxious to expand it's meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. And no official of my administration, whether his rank is high or low civilian or military should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent"
And here we have a prophecy in action in small scale on boards for everyone to see. A forum created for dissenting views stifled to death by those who wish for increased security...
Lol.
Again asking people to explain what they believe and to show their reasoning and evidence for their beliefs is declared "stifling".
Outright lies and obvious bullshit that the poster knows is bullshit is declared as "dissenting views".
The newspeak is doubleplusgood in this thread lately.
This is also the same JFK who was a driving force behind the space program you believe is entirely fabricated right?
More lies and deflection from markus
My head is spinning reading this thread .... things are obviously easing. There is nothing permanent. This thread needs to be closed.
What?
"Everything will be permanent, except not everything will be permanent and the stuff that will be permanent won't be permanent."
What on earth is the point you are trying to make in these posts?
Any yet according to some on this thread.
"Nothing has eased, no restriction has lifted and everything is permanent"
But they cant say what is permanent or why.
That's the level of idiotic childishness that is
While the Covid restrictions are clearly not permanent, they may have gotten us used to restrictions to come due to climate change that we previously would not have accepted. I’m thinking restrictions on travel, certain goods, etc. Then again their preferred methods to date have been taxing in relation to climate unfriendly goods and actions.
Just saying what we would accept now is likely much more than pre covid as we are used to having freedoms curtailed. They language around climate emergency being used does lead to predictions of future restrictions
Lol that's what they said about swine flu too.
It's always "preparation for the real thing that's just around the corner."
Plenty of dissenting views are being posted here, you are not being limited in what conspiracy theories that you can post.
Just that you are asked to explain your theory is all that is happening. Why don't you want to explain your theories? People are more than willing to listen, but you keep refusing to answer any queries put to you.
I did t even think it was controversial point that restrictions on our action, what we could buy etc. Would come in due to climate emergency. Unless you have been under a rock for past 6 months or so? My only point was that we might be more likely to accept more given how accustomed we are to severe restrictions. Didn’t think a Lol was warranted but I guess tgat people on both side of this thread are unwilling to consider thing outside their narrowly defined positions.
I lol because I find it funny that we're hearing this claim yet again. "This was just a test run. they're going to be bringing in the real stuff next time."
What exactly would you like me to consider, that the temporary restrictions during covid were only implemented as a way to get people used to them?
People might be more willing to accept restrictions in the future, but this is simply a byproduct of the necessary restrictions for covid.
Hopefully people will have learned that the conspiracy claims we've heard for these restrictions are unlikely to be true if restrictions are needed for future emergencies.
The measures I believe are permanent:
Masks: https://m.independent.ie/irish-news/health/donnelly-hints-face-masks-may-remain-as-part-of-sector-specific-measures-40939586.html
Was supposed to be three settings, but, predictably enough, it's likely to be more than three settings.
Vaccine passports.
A degree of social distancing is likely to be permanent.
But the interesting thing is that it is the people who are calling for it.
Your point is well made. Ignore the 'lol' stuff. But I don't understand why you don't think the measures will be permanent. Donnelly is now saying "sector-specific" mask wearing: https://m.independent.ie/irish-news/health/donnelly-hints-face-masks-may-remain-as-part-of-sector-specific-measures-40939586.html
How do they ever go if 90 odd percent of the eligible population being vaccinated isn't enough for them to go?
Ok.
What's the real reason for these measures to be made permanent?
How does it benefit the people who are forcing these measures when they aren't actually helpful or needed.
You've been asked this many many times, but every time you ignore and run away.
I think it's because either you don't have an answer as your conspiracy theory isn't that deep and you're just parroting crap you read from conspiracy grifters.
Or it's because your conspiracy theory is very very wacky and you understand that if you are honest about what you believe, most people will reject your nonsense out of hand and you'll be laughed out of the form.
Either way, you're going to ignore the question again.
And until we have an answer to that question you don't have a theory. It's meaningless.
The reason he might not believe it is because it's not true and no conspiracy theorist has made a rational or coherent case.
Sigh. Masks will be permanent, vaccine passports will be permanent. I mention the 5km and places that were always going to reopen because people here consider them to be examples of restrictions that were lifted. I argue that both were never going to be permanent. Why is that hard to understand?
Evidence for a degree of social distancing being permanent? I've seen no evidence of that, if anything I've seen social distancing largely disappear since vaccinations.
Vaccine passport for transmissible viruses, we should have been doing it years ago tbh. It's far safer but the reality is it's limited to covid. If we extend it, fantastic!
Masks in a supermarket or hospital, not really a measure that I'd object to. It doesn't limit my existence in any way.
In fact at this stage, I've pretty much returned to normal in terms of what I can do. I'll travel early next year, I've gone to the pub and restaurants. I'm active in sports groups and distancing isn't occurring any more in them.
So I think we've learned things from the pandemic that can keep people healthier. We might keep bits and pieces in certain settings but honestly, none of them have any particular impact on your day to day life.
So then the claim "All covid measures are permanent" is false and has always been false.
Yet a few posts ago, you declared Brainhere's Op as "Spot on".
What's hard to understand is how something can be "Spot on" but also false.
