I know what it's 'meant' to sound like. But what it 'actually' sounds like is far different. It's pretty bad. Her Irish accent, and the Irish pronunciation of words like 'Roight' slips thru. She's supposed to be a trained actress. Her performance from the trailer alone looks pretty dreadful.
I mean, Maggie Gyllenhaal hides her American accent amazingly well in Nanny MacPhee 2.
Also, that kid's gonna get Jake Lloyd levels of abuse over this movie.
I'd say the accent, the seriously negative reaction the trailer is getting, and the hostility to this from the beginning is the reason she's 'taking a break'. Didn't stop her posting messages about the film up to this, though.
