RTE's new 8 episode gangland drama with an all star cast.
AMC start date is September 9th I can't see a start date for RTE just a coming soon.
Maybe they should have got the intern then!
Beechwoodspark will be on to say how great those scenes are..... #3shakes
They're obviously keeping people engaged with the viewing figures staying consistent at 500k. With all the naysayers here still tuning in, obviously engaged enough to watch and then comment here. RTE, Screen Ireland, AMC, Bron and others are pretty grateful for your support.
Unsure how this will go down in the US. It'll definitely get an audience of Irish immigrants, some Irish-Americans but I can't see it (yet) having mainstream appeal - hard for them to follow the accents and too slow-paced (which I like) and gloomy for the average viewer. The people there who like Scandinavian drama will probably tune in and it should get enough viewers for a second season at least.
like The White Lotus, the gay lad (manager) took a dump in yer man's suitcase and got stabbed after being on a coke binge and getting fired. some craic
See you here for the finale in 3 weeks.
is Viking a test tube baby? No mother to be seen or heard of and Frank being gay as well, could be why he's such a hatred of Eric
3 more weeks 😳 they could wrap this muck up in 15 minutes including advert breaks , but yes, I've gone this far but not anticipating it to get any better.
Ever hear of SPOILERS !!!! 😣 🙄
Its a decent show if you take it for what it is
But for a Dublin gangland its all a little clean cut, everyone is to "NICE" & to turned out,
Even the language is to clean cut, "I don't want to look like a sap" something someone from a private school would say
Also where are the drugs, find me the drugs , the amount of times they use the the word Drugs , it just isn't real is it, It would be where's my **** , where's the gear , where the sniff, whatever way you want to say it but not Drugs every time , it just not real enough ,
One thing love hate had was a bit of grit or realism to it that this lacks ,
Oh and I'm still watching but just because of Nikita ,even the missus agrees that she is stunning ,
Has episode 4 disappeared off the RTE player for anyone else?
I've got some free time later this week. You have any mediocre American cop shows to recommend, something that would antagonise me for 7/8 hours and propel me to vent my spleen on a forum afterwards? I guess it's a release of some kind and I wouldn't mind giving it a go.
They're a strange family.
Birdy hands all over Mikey. Birdy gives Erik a slap. What woman gives fellas a slap anymore? It's like something you'd see in To Kill a Mockingbird
Mikey is all over Anna yet couldn't give a shite about Jamie!
What’s the point of Viking bird ? Doing nothin In it
You've clearly have to much time free if you can dedicate so much time questioning people's entitlement to post an opinion on a forum such as Boards. Perhaps you think I'm alone in my distain for the disappointment this series as been, I suggest you actually read through the Thread.
Check 5 usa, CBS drama and a few obscure UK channels few look at, you'll find ample amounts of mediocre American cop shows, none incidently that could compete in terms of abject mediocrity that is KIN.
Abject mediocrity is overselling kin
Very little free time cos of work and two young kids, hence my envy for those who can use it to watch something they abhor. Again many thanks for the amusement value.
I've never liked Queen of the Stone Age but I'm putting them on now to see what effect the vexatious listening produces.
Kinsellas gear no money
Eamon money goons to kill and get the gear back
It's a cat and mouse game now and if Frank is Jerry then The Kin will win and Eamon will be Tom brown bread everytime.
Quite amazing that, you claim to lead a hectic life of busyness and yet find ample time to be on here critiquing posters rather than the thread topic, extraordinary trick that , amazing and I'm in (Y) awe (N) 🤭
I was feeling generous 🤣 but realise my error and humbly and sincerely apologise 😏
Touché 😏
Yeah I had issues earlier. Unavailable on desktop due to "rights restrictions" and not even listed in the app. Since this is an RTE production I assume it must have been a bug.
I also noticed that Kin actually airs on AMC a few days before RTE1! I think the infamous Amber also aired in other countries first. Is it forbidden to talk about episodes that aired abroad before they air here? Or merely frowned upon?
One last thing: did Keith have a cameo in episode 4? I thought I spotted him when Kem was climbing the stairs in the dilapidated building. The camera seemed to move to draw attention to the passerby, just like it did in the previous episode when Michael passed him in the pub. Even the circumstances were identical- Eamonn being informed that his assassination target had been spotted. Could Keith have owed a debt to Frank, too?
He wasn't listed in the credits at the end; however, a few characters who I didn't remember seeing- like Eamonn's ex- were listed. So I wouldn't call the credits fully reliable.
Its available on AMC+ on Thursday mornings, and from there its uploaded to various places and it gets talked about here (several posters have to tell us all how bad it is!)
Best to use spoiler tags to discuss before the RTE showing on Sunday
In total I've posted circa 50/60 comments on this thread which took roughly 20 mins, less time than you take to watch a third of an episode of a drama you purport to hate yet find yourself drawn to. It's nothing if not intriguing.
No whining, I'm happily observing some masochistic viewing which is surely something very unique, even in this epoch.
I also dislike watching golf but a few hours this evening should get me pretty vexed so why not?
Agreed , I found the scene where Eamon learned his wife had terminal cancer more emotionally involving than any issue the Kinsellas have domestically
Who is Keith?
The guy who got his face ironed in episode 1
@troched I was intrigued so I had a look at that scene in ep4 and the camera does centre on that person as they pass Kem and they certainly eyeball him pretty hard before moving on, but he's wearing a hoodie and his face is mostly obscured by shadows so I can't tell if it was him or not
Anyway, did he not get his debt wiped for acting as lookout in the pub during the shooting? Im nearly sure they said he was in the clear after that
Very little free time yet you are on here morning noon and night ...ok...
Yeah he wiped his debt to Jimmy. I had an idea, though, that maybe he owed Eamon as well. So once he spotted Kem and Fudge, he informed Eamon's hitman; thereby performing the same function for both sides of the war.
It sounds less plausible now I've written it down 😅
