The publican who knew and spoke French with Sophie? As per the Netflix doc?
You use the word FACT a lot for someone who admits not bothering to check them.
This is fresh... a lot of people and their 'kids' lived within walking distance..
Narrow it down.. who would have known Sophie was around?.
If there was a play of Sophies last couple of days who would make it onto the stage... ?
There isnt a single shred of evidence for the lie you are spreading about Bailey and his ex wife. You have nothing.
In fact the DPP reports attests:
"Sarah Limbrick, Bailey’s former wife who has known him since the 1970’s has asserted that he never used violence towards her person."
Lots of crimes go unsolved. Some have no suspects. Does that mean no one committed them?
That you place value on the lack of other suspects as a true fact shows how muddled your logic is.
Does it mean someone who was suspected of it should be banged up just because the real culprit couldnt be found?
Your case against Bailey is built on lies and a witch hunt mentality.
Three times the DPP looked at it and didnt procees because there is no hard evidence against Bailey.
No forensics.
No motive
No witnesses putting him at the scene.
No witnesses ever seeing the two of them alone together.
One witness, a known liar, who put Bailey at the vicinity and then retracted.
Didn't we see this physically infirm person moving speedily in 2003 to avoid cameras when the libel trial was being held?
Was he on disability I wonder... he may very well have been ill at one point but then decided to keep up the pretence. Or be totally genuine.
I suppose it's no secret that for the holy grail of unemployment benefit, disability has always been a broad term. A friendly doctor can help
I'll start off the play so...
Sophie arrives into Cork airport , collects her bags, collects her hire keys
... As she makes her way out onto the main road a tall gent, whom she recognises from the plane, has a carboard sign held out with Schull written on it in bold writing....
continue..
(full presumption of innocence for all possible/ known interactions)

The thing is there is no such thing as "pro Bailey (ites)" or contra Bailey. Again, there is no evidence to prove anything here. We do not know whether the Fiesta was speeding, who was in that Fiesta, and who was the owner of the car. We don't even have a license plate, - and even if we had a license plate, it's just another indication not evidence.
The reason nobody came forward was possibly in the nature of the locals. Who would be reporting on his neighbour if they would depend on each other out there in the sparsely populated peninsula ? They probably all knew if one was growing a bit of weed for personal use, and known which Guard would look the other way, maybe for a bottle of good wine or some money. Also which Guard reported on the other Guard?
Just trying to get common ground agreed likelyhoods rather than ............ roundabouts & polarized stances.
Turns out he's a normal joe, making his way home to west Cork for Christmas. He insists on paying for Sophies petrol and exits car at a well known junction.
Sophie continues on.....
Question.... Why didn't he/they come forward to clear his name? after a similar car was spotted on the same day & similar time as Sophie was be passing....
Ya it's possible she contacted AGS about drug related activities. Seems true to form for her and the locality. If he was as bent as made out, he could have made it his business to call out to her. Did he get the wrong idea and believe she was hitting on him/remotely interested? Was he under the influence so often that he rarely took a moment to care for anyone apart from himself. Did she pick up an object and threaten him at the door/gate to f* off and leave her alone. Will we ever know? Not sure but but seems most likely to me.
Is it known what that particular Guard from Bantry did on the immediate day after the murder? Was he on duty that day? Was he called out to the murder site?
He wasn't involved in the murder whatsoever. As one of only 2 detectives in bantry, it's very strange.
Nowhere to be seen.
Wow! that's what I was getting at in post #7500
Were there more detectives stationed closer though ??
Do you mean not involved in the investigation or in the actual murder?
Edit;
Ok I get it now.
Others came from bandon etc. Pat joy was the other detective and very involved.
The exact date of J.Od retirement isn't known but he was seemingly in active service till at least the following year. I heard he got "re-stationed" immediately after the murder but this is yet to be confirmed.
What was he doing then, on the morning after the murder? On duty somewhere? Or a day off at home? Did his wife or friends notice anything about him?
Don't know that much, sorry!
Perhaps there's a record somewhere, of him being excused due to personal involvement - "relationship of some sort" or fear of compromising some other operation.
This Guy?

But but but Ian Bailey was the only guy in West Cork at the time the murder who was abusive to his partner so it must be him....
Unlikely,
unless the reports of his death in 2001 were greatly exaggerated.
Nope, different person.
Could be this man?;
Maybe someone who has a subscription to the newspaper archives could check?
Would be helpful if Gemma O Doherty would follow up on the original article or at least clarify some of her information. Is she still on twitter I wonder?
It would, she was the first journo to start looking the way of the senior gard even though there were rumors a plenty locally im sure. Id say she'd be very interested in pursuing it further because relations between herself and the gards arent the best currently:) & she seems well able to stand up to them.
I am not making false statements. These allegations were first heard during the investigation of the crime. I was merely repeating them here. It was alleged Bailey beat his wife. It was alleged Bantry cop was somehow involved. I accept the veracity of a previous post about Bailey's wife and her statement in regard to domestic abuse. Speculation, theories and untruths abound in the absence of hard, indisputable evidence.
Yes, someone should give Gemma a poke, (figuratively of course). She would have no problem giving a voice to rumours if it rocks the established order of things.
