Plus if you look at banks who are now starting to close branches shows we are on the way to a more cashless society.
Some festivals already are and more will go that way. You may think its very silly business decision but it reduces potential loss, security issues, and few other issues that come up with having significant amount of cash on site
theres already festivals that do it, download i think went fully cashless
Of course there are cashless bars in various venues but they'll never be 100% cashless and I'm not aware of any venue, certainly any major ones they have eradicated cash altogether, it'd be a very silly business decision.
Some will and others already have. Aviva Stadium bars, food units are cashless now. When you have lot of units selling there can be a lot of cash on site which has its risks and some businesses want to reduce that risk so will go cashless as result
No chance of that. A lot of people still use cash and cash alone when out.
Will venues be going 100% cashless ?
Revolut comes in handy in that regard
Highly unlikely as gigs are full steam ahead from a couple of weeks time.
You could always try to sell them through ticketmaster and cover most of the value of your tickets.
Have tickets for rescheduled Little Mix next April. Do you think they could reduce numbers and offer refunds as a lot of audience would be unvaccinated under 12s? Also standing tickets have been sold. Probably a bit early to guess if there will be some restrictions. We have a wedding on the date 🥺
All 6 of his Ireland gigs now rescheduled:

Bugger
Whats the turnaround time for Ticket Sheister to return the funds...or is it how long is a piece of string and I might get it by Christmas 2025
I had to request a refund three separate times for this gig, finally got email confirming refund this morning - first times was auto response saying "event has not been changed". Friend having the same crap despite requesting refund on 23 Sep, they've emailed customer.services @ ticketmaster . ie to try and sort it out.
Up north they haven't been given a proper reopening of events/gigs like we have.

Says in this article
'As the moment, current guidelines mean that concerts can take place indoors as long as they are seated.'
Should we be worrying for other gigs around the time these were suppose to take place ? Are places not set to fully reopen from Oct 22nd
Paul Weller has cancelled gigs in Dublin and Galway
I've decided to go to Burgess tomorrow in Whelans.
Apparently, I'm entitled to a full refund if I wish (as it was rescheduled and rescheduled again).
I bought two tickets so I have asked for a refund for one (the person due to go with me can't make it).
I'm currently waiting 3 weeks on a previous query from TM (and there doesn't appear to be a phone number to talk to someone about it all) so if there's anyone here that would like a ticket for face value for 6pm tomorrow, pm me.
If not, hopefully someone will come back to me with the refund on the ticket.
John Grant’s gig at St Canice’s Cathedral in Kilkenny has been rescheduled to November 27th.
It was an attempted joke, and if I had of put all that in, it would have been even less funny...
I don't believe thats the case at all. Its a “naming” fixed term 8 years partnership contract, rather than an ownership change, similar to 3arena, included in 3 branding and advertising, presales etc, so would still be owned by whoever owned it prior to the deal, eg MCD or someone connected to MCD
It’s the 3Olympia
Favourite review Ive seen of Ellie Goulding
It was essentially an hour of being shouted at by a lovesick aerobics teacher.
Well its obviously not going ahead, indoor venues cant open at full capacity until later in October.
Guess they're waiting for artist to postpone or cancel tour so may not have that confirmation yet but can't see it happening. Most gigs are being rescheduled if already sold at 100% capacity.
Ironic considering it is now owned by a communications company...
Olympia still advertising that the Ellie Goulding gig is going ahead next week. I've messaged them a few times about it and no response. The lack of communication from venues is terrible. Its less than a week away and no idea if it's going ahead or not!
Its 2 gigs for Grant in Saint Lukes Church, Cork, i’d expect an update soon
Lebanon Hanover gig rescheduled to late November. https://twitter.com/Select1veMemory/status/1442777824327254017?s=19
John Grant NCH gig rescheduled from October to 21st November. No word on his Cork gig being rescheduled yet. https://twitter.com/foggynotions/status/1442777341575450628?s=19
Tim Burgess
The government will pay Tim and Whelans for the extra show, according to Whelans website. Fair play to him for agreeing to do it.
I'm going to the second show, hope he's up for it.
Well, either a rush and a push, I'd say, or you go and you stand on your own and you leave on your own and you go home and you cry and you want to die.
